Simple. The common denominator is pastry - I don't really like pastry, regardless of what it covers. No thanks, how can you compare a dislike of toast to a dislike of pies?
Literally everyone who was chatting shit about how good toast is, was just on about the toppings.
How can you just blanket dislike pie?

Barton Grange sell an amazing butter pie in the Lathams shop, I'm sure it would convert you.I don't like pies anyway, butter pies do however deserve a special place in hell 😉
There is no such thing.....revolting things
I can tell your a 'soft Southerner' Essex
We have been known to live on them 'UP here'
Wigan in particular has the tile of ‘Worlds best Pie eaters’
They even used to take them down 'the pit'
Must have added some flavour don't you think?
As for Booths, it’s very selective; they have things other shops don’t tend to stock
And they don’t half ‘DO’ a good ready cooked ham in a bun, cooked to a turn and cut nice and thick, plus a bit of pickle if you want it (In Chorley anyway)
Makes me mouth water just thinking about it

Jonty, I can assure you there's absolutely nothing wrong with a pair of 'Romford Knockers' for dinner.
I never knew about these Mark..... I need to follow this up when the virus has gone away !Barton Grange sell an amazing butter pie in the Lathams shop, I'm sure it would convert you.

Latham's are probably making virus-free pies right now, Ando. It's not a 260 mile drive from your house is it 😉?
Hence if one doesn't like pastry.....Pastry is literally the best bit about the pie
I'm a lost cause by now. Even my dear departed mother's pastry, which was allegedly a culinary triumph, and which I could tolerate in fruit pies, didn't convert me to pastryBarton Grange sell an amazing butter pie in the Lathams shop, I'm sure it would convert you.
You are under 50Pastry is literally the best bit about the pie

get past that and I assure you that pastry quickly becomes the gastric version of the devil
Yep, get yourself up there and stock up, they're not cheap but well worth the drive.I never knew about these Mark..... I need to follow this up when the virus has gone away !
Disgraceful behaviour, you just wait until the PNE badge has a butter pie woven into it.I'm a lost cause by now. Even my dear departed mother's pastry, which was allegedly a culinary triumph, and which I could tolerate in fruit pies, didn't convert me to pastry
No, but I better have a drive to Lathams to test my eyes ..Latham's are probably making virus-free pies right now, Ando. It's not a 260 mile drive from your house is it 😉?
You can buy them online as well Mark... £6-20 for a pack of 4.Yep, get yourself up there and stock up, they're not cheap but well worth the drive.
They have some good stuff both savoury and sweet - minimum spend of £25 shouldn’t be an issue😁

Does your pastry dislike include filo? 😋I'm a lost cause by now. Even my dear departed mother's pastry, which was allegedly a culinary triumph, and which I could tolerate in fruit pies, didn't convert me to pastry
I have been using social distancing from pies for years. Simply seeing one makes me reach for the RenniesYou are under 50

I'm not as rapidly anti file as I am anti shortcrust!Does your pastry dislike include filo? 😋
So you are not a completely hopeless case - I couldn't imagine life without spinach pies. Or, when I go into Sparta on Friday, I will have some tyropitaria - feta stuffed inside filo parcels and fried (like samosas). Lovely with a cold glass of ouzo 🙂I'm not as rapidly anti file as I am anti shortcrust!

Well Essex
If you don’t like our butter pies or those hot ham buns I mentioned
They can always ‘do you’ hot beef with plenty of hot onions plus a dollop of mustard
Lovely Grub, none of your ‘foreign muck’ up here
We live like ‘Old Lords used to do’
Have to keep Blackpool Victoria employed as well you know
