I would totally have lost it for that amount !I remember my 2nd year of car insurance. Had no idea about auto renewal. Nearly lost my shit when they took £1400 out my account.
pneonline account
My problem has been resolved by my bank, they have also repaid the £5-50 back into my account, which i didnt ask for, but id love to stay on the forum if there is no more back door payments, ill pay of my own volition, and i will not accept payment leaving my account without my consent
I am pleased you have had your funding returned.
However, to be totally clear PNE Online do not take any payments without consent.
When donating as a patron you are asked if you would like to set up recurring payments.
Whilst this is an option with payment providers and not PNE Online (we use 3rd party payments) we do state it clearly that this may occur and to opt out if required.
I would totally have lost it for that amount !
I had a night or two of panicking but when I got in touch with the firm they were lovely and paid me back immediately when I confirmed I was insured through another party.
However, I then got the money back, lent it (plus a bit more) to a good friend who was in severe financial difficulty and at risk of getting kicked out of his apartment. The lad moved to Newcastle the next day and I've never seen him since.

Similar thing happened to me years ago, I lent a mate £200 on the understanding that he'd pay me back on payday a week later. He just disappeared of the face of the earth and I've never heard from him since. That was in the days before everybody had internet.I had a night or two of panicking but when I got in touch with the firm they were lovely and paid me back immediately when I confirmed I was insured through another party.

I swore, never again. If someone's having money problems I'll offer all the help I can but won't hand over any money.

I'm the same now, regretfully.
Although for close friends and family, if I can afford it, I'm happy to give money instead of lend.
I wouldn't lend another pound.

Nobody is suggesting you do Hydro!
I completely understand your POV, and I'm glad that you've directed your dismay in the right direction.
He wasn’t even a friend let alone a good one. Karma will surely bite his arse rest assured.I had a night or two of panicking but when I got in touch with the firm they were lovely and paid me back immediately when I confirmed I was insured through another party.

As @stf4ever said, no one is suggesting anything of the sort. I do understand your reasons btw, but do remember, as JK has already said, the automatic payment was nothing to do with one-online. I'm guessing you paid by PayPal? They've just taken £10 out of my account without me knowing! 😂I havn't got money problems, i just insist on me having control of my cash, i wont have anything to do with paypal never ever😒
I lent a bloke £400 quid back in the 80's. knew him for 3 years, was reluctant to at first but it was to help pay his rent otherwise he would be evicted.Similar thing happened to me years ago, I lent a mate £200 on the understanding that he'd pay me back on payday a week later. Never saw him again, found out he left London the next day with his wife and moved to somewhere in Devon. Stopped me ever doing it again.

I was going to add "or so I thought" but thought it ruined the story!!
Now im asking, can i give the £5-50 my bank has refunded me back to pne on line without this problem of paypal👍
I understand your trepidation about using PayPal. I've been using it since it was invented and, trust me, it's the best for moving money around. You do have the option of terminating a recurring payment by editing the original transaction. PM me if you want to run through this off-forum 👍

I'll pass on the interest free credit 😉.
What I love about PayPal is their willingness to get involved in payment disputes and weed out unscrupulous vendors. They're a huge organization and are used in the US as a 'gateway' for credit card processing so they're used to handling trillions of transactions. I haven't a rotten word to say about them.
You still not learnt your lesson about buying all that Chinese tat on Wish…..I'll pass on the interest free credit 😉.

Well, no, because I got all my money back and got to keep the tat 😉.
There's a Russian, somewhere, presumably in Russia, who's totally pissed off with me. I bought a guitar effects pedal off him. After two months it hadn't arrived. I reported it to PayPal. Two weeks later I got a full refund of my money. One week later the effects pedal arrived 😳.
You sure it was anything to do with the money that made him disappear? Maybe it was just your personality 🙂Similar thing happened to me years ago, I lent a mate £200 on the understanding that he'd pay me back on payday a week later. Not such a “ Good Friend “ after all……I had a night or two of panicking but when I got in touch with the firm they were lovely and paid me back immediately when I confirmed I was insured through another party.

Don't worry, he'll be on the way over to recover the debt, his Trabant has probably conked out somewhere en route. There's a Russian, somewhere, presumably in Russia, who's totally pissed off with me.
