Superb result. We stormed into a three goal lead and then saw the match out. The player who hasn't been mentioned here who played a crucial role is Woodman - he made key saves just when the opposition were putting some effort in. But everyone did their bit.

"Coventry responded and Preston keeper Freddie Woodman made a fine save to keep out Callum O'Hare's shot, with defender Andrew Hughes following up to clear as the ball threatened to trickle over the line.
Milan van Ewijk was twice denied by Woodman, whose clean sheet meant Coventry had failed to score for the first time in 20 matches, and fell to their heaviest defeat of the season."

Just about 8 weeks since we started the game against Swansea with Woodman, Millar, Mads, Keane, Whiteman and Osmajic on the bench and Ched as the sole striker. Maybe people did have a point that it wasn’t the right strategy at that point, and seemingly the management agree. Can’t fault that they’ve made amends and realised where our strength lies

Genuine question, but at what point do you think youth should get game time if not at 3-0 up with 10 to play?
Well there’s also the fact that game time is only the final part of the full pre-match experience which is equally as important to help deal with nerves, so yeah, not many minutes today, but being brought on late will no doubt give Seary the motivation to be part of the match experience every week. Small steps and all that

Agree, it's just a shame that it took Lowe half a season to work it out.

Well deserved win. Great to see us passing the ball accurately and being a threat on the break. Riis’s pace frightened them to death as he scored the first and made the other two. The back three were immense with Lindsay magnificent. Browne was captain fantastic with an assist for the first goal and controlled the right side of the pitch. Overall a great away performance against a very disappointing high riding Coventry side who just missed out on going into the Premier league last May, losing the playoff final to Luton. We could still get there on this showing!

Is it that it took him half a season or that he’s only felt comfortable playing two up since Riis has come back?

He’s changed the whole dynamic of the team , he must be horrific to defend against , he’s quite often dragging two defenders out of position with his runs into the channel .

Watching him now, i think it’s fairly evident Riis has spent his year out wisely, educating himself on how to be a more complete striker - he’s always had the brawn but now he’s got the brains to go with it - he’ll be worth an absolute fortune if he carries on this form until the end of the season!

Robins: ‘It’s as bad as it’s been for years, even worse than Stoke. Game got away from us from the start. Need to defend it better. They ran harder, fought harder and did the dirty side of the game better than anyone who’s been here. No pride. Looked like a team who were scared stiff. Lots of poor decisions and difficult to pull bones out of. Can’t feel sorry for ourselves as have a game on Monday. ‘

‘Difficult to make changes wi the injuries. Torp couldn’t play a full game. Manner of the defeat was atrocious and we deserve nothing. Got a proper doing. Need to take criticism on chin, stick chest out.’

On Tats: ‘Not a good injury at all. Got up high and landed on his back and hip. Don’t want to speculate but it’s a bad injury. Was more like a rugby game and like the physicality of games when I used to play. Didn’t anticipate it being as bad as that. He’s in hospital now and we’re waiting for news.’

‘We’ve been bullied today and that can’t happen again. That was miles away from any game we’ve played for years. Can’t play like that against West Brom.’

Hull need to come to the Deepdale we know it can be next weekend. Make it horrible for them.

I love and hate this fucking football club in equal measure sometimes, but I'm dreaming again.

Make no mistake, not taking any credit away from Lowe who is now rightly nowhere near the chop, but this is largely down to the return of Riis and Lowe finally realising he's leaving our best player on the bench in Mads. Its great to see.

Yes, more complete definitely. His hold up play, 1st touch, turning with the ball, running off the ball, heading, everything almost has improved to compliment his raw power and pace. It has made the world of difference to the team.

I honestly believe this is it. The group look full of confidence, it’s amazing what a difference one or two players can make. Mads with his footballing brain and Riis with the attacking desire we have been desperate for all season. At the very least I feel a playoff place is ours for the taking. COYW!

Interest quotes from Robbins . Acknowledging that we completely did a job on them . I’m delighted to hear him say we bullied them and we’re physically stronger , we’ve too often been soft touches and let teams pass through us . We’re at our best when pressing high , stops the opposition getting at our dodgy defenders as often
