Matchday Thread PNE v Stoke City - 9/03/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

The winner that came from a free kick that wasn’t.

We were shit and Stoke were shit, the only fair result was a draw which Schumacher set out to get from the start.
No we didn’t deserve a point, we were utter crap. We looked like a team in the bottom three not them and it was plain to see which team wanted to win and which couldn’t be arsed.

Any half decent team tears us to shreds today. Stoke had some quality chances and couldn’t convert on most of them. We played awfully and scored a very underserved goal.

Not a single player played well, hopefully just an anomaly and we get back to how we have been playing against Plymouth next week.

I thought McCann played well again.

You’ve absolutely lost the plot here I’m afraid.

One team had 4 shots all game. The other had 13 and missed 3 big chances.

I wish we’d play for a draw and create 13 shooting opportunities and be unlucky to only score 2. Some going that.

Stoke far better than us and deserved to win.

You seen the results today?
Only Hull drawing went in our favour
Today was back to the safety first policy, an I've absolutely no idea why this was the case.
Schumacher living rent free in Lowe's head!
Why??!

Really poor one to lose that today. Stoke made it a battle & we never got a foot in the game.

Was very flat.

Once we levelled, to concede from another set piece was criminal.

Going to take a run of wins to stand a chance of the play offs now.

It’s so unfair isn’t it? Stoke played in midweek and were able to maintain their fitness, whilst our lads had a long hard journey to get over.😉

The more interesting thing for me is to see if this is the start of another of lowes shit runs. Or can he immediately find a winning formula down at Plymouth.
