Alan Shearer did alright after doing his ACLNot sure if I can recall a player coming back from a ACL at the level Emil has.

Notably both strikers who adapted their games to be more physical and less based on raw pace. Riis certainly still seems no slouch!

What about the 2 or 3 teams underneath? It's virtually impossible to close the goal difference deficit. Professionalism first.
Granted the ones above us, no chance.
Goals breed confidence don't they but maybe not wanting to risk any injuries? Who knows?!

If we win on Monday, then I think we will have a good chance.
Much tougher task than today though. Brum looked good today and were unlucky to lose. Plus, it’s a Rowett team….
I do have a horrible niggling feeling that we might struggle on Monday.

Hail stones down my arse crack spoiled that one for me personally
We were playing against a team who are all but relegated, once we scored our first goal they had given up. Their defence and marking was awful, one of the worse teams I have seen in this division.Really??? Be happy, when was the last time we were this comfortable in a home game??..we've got 2 away games in the next 7 days. More than happy for us to take it easy for the last 15.....glass half full for me
The second half was a great opportunity to build on that 3-0 lead, we simply sat back and played it safe and passed sideways and backwards, a great opportunity to put our goal difference into a positive against arguably one of the poorest teams in this division in a long while.🤔

Not sure if I am a bit slow but I think you got a word or two wrong in there. I have read it three times and I am not sure quite what you’re saying PNE have done in the past.Until very recently we’ve not played on a Good Friday afternoon. When I asked, it was at the request of the clubs due to wanting time between games, they deemed Saturday - Monday as not sufficient recovery time. When it first started happening, the games were actually scheduled for the Saturday but as almost all clubs asked for theirs to be moved the league took the decision to move them all - not more than 10 years ago I believe.
I don’t agree and I do think that you’ll struggle to find a more historically Catholic place than Preston and it really shouldn’t be Good Friday afternoon that we’re playing. I’m comfortable choosing church over football but I honestly don’t think people should have to choose.
Anyway, I certainly remember Good Friday being on the fixture list when I was growing up - with the 1978 promotion season having fixtures on the Friday, Saturday and Monday. Special train(s?) and all.
I have half a feeling that games might at one time have started a bit later on a Good Friday to avoid 3pm. Or was that just an idea that I used to think should happen?!! I can’t remember! I do definitely remember arguing that we should kick off at 3.15 or 3.30 - I think on this forum, which would suggest it’s been an issue for PNE in relatively recent years… after 2010.

Did they melt too quickly for you?
Back from the match. Box ticked, job done. 3 points and a clean sheet. Second half was a bit of an anti climax as game was comfortably won in the first half., thus
giving the players a chance to coast through until full time. A chance of minutes for the youngsters with Noah showing he has no fears about playing with and against experienced pros. Rovrum were poor but did excel in berating the ref , linesman and fourth official on the IP side with some choice industrial language. Enjoy the rest of Easter. Coyw onwards and upwards.

Under Lowe, we’ve never gone for the jugular, his priority is always to hold on to what we have, often the right thing to do, but against Rotherham!?We were playing against a team who are all but relegated, once we scored our first goal they had given up. Job done some minutes into a few fringe players, whisper it quietly maybe the youth set up is starting to flourish, Monday will be a different kettle of fish but if we can survive Mr Blue Sky we stand a chance

We play again on Monday, with a squad that is threadbare in several key positions, and have another 3 games in the following fortnight.Under Lowe, we’ve never gone for the jugular, his priority is always to hold on to what we have, often the right thing to do, but against Rotherham!?
Right thing to take our foot off the gas and control the game, avoid fatigue and injury. Never going to catch the Norwich’s and Cov’s - they’re 18 goals clear on that front.

Just got back from a day out on the piss!
I saw the score at half time and was really chuffed, not so happy to see we didn’t go for it in the 2nd but 3 points in the bag and still in with a shout, that’s good enough for me at this stage. Still 5 points adrift but one of the inform teams in the mix and it’s still in our hands, just need to beat Norwich and Southampton on their turf! 😏

3-0 is pretty comprehensive to be fair.Under Lowe, we’ve never gone for the jugular, his priority is always to hold on to what we have, often the right thing to do, but against Rotherham!?
Need to fully focus now on beating Brum which will be tougher now Rowett is manager.

Agree, going for the jugular comes through a cloud of alcohol! Keeping players fit and free from injury is far more important. Tha first half must’ve been a brilliant watch! Will be watching the highlights soon.3-0 is pretty comprehensive to be fair.
