. Yet we are still only five points outside with a game in hand

Maybe if we’d played 2 up top along with Mads in his correct position all season, and not tried to draw every game 0-0, we’d ne in the play off zone as well. As you say, credit to RL for turning it around, but why did it take him so long to see what most people without badges could see

True but let’s be honest we haven’t had Riis for the first half of the season and Keane/osmajic missed quite a few games in the first two/three months.

Had Riis been fit 2 month earlier and had Mads been inbthe team, we'd be top 6 now imo. Lowe massively got Mads wrong.

Only out of desperation (getting the sack) was the reason for Lowe moving away from his tactic of parking the bus, once again North End failed to take advantage of an opportunity !

When Burnley got promoted under Dyche, they had a plan. Beat the teams in the bottom half (they did the double on every team from 13th down and that’s 72 points) and keep it tight against the rest. We only needed to have beaten Sheffield Wednesday & QPR at home and Birmingham & Rotherham away, and those extra 11 points would have seen us safely in the top 6. Those 4 games were not only winnable, they should have been won convincingly, and that is why we are where we are unfortunately.

Problem with whataboutery like this is it ignores all other teams can say the same. That is the point of the league. There is no point getting bogged down in ifs and buts as it drives you mad.

Playoffs or not, we need to make sure though that the season ends well. Not petering out to defeats and draws and finishing 11th. An 8th place finish would represent a step up from last season.

According to one of our friends down the road we are after Jordan Gabriel in the summer.
He’d be great for the 4 games a season he’s fit.

Anyway, not a chance is that legit. Especially after his posts on social media after the 4-2 game last season

Nowt to do with his best striker regaining fitness then? Or his second best striker regaining fitness and hitting it off with the aforementioned? Or his best midfielder working out that the danish league and championship have different requirements?

Plenty of different narratives if you choose to look for them. We all see what we want to see….

PS I think Lowe is neither as good or bad as various posters here like to think.
