Matchday Thread PNE v Leicester City - 29/04/24 - KO:8PM - Championship

Very poor - a lack of fight and sheer will to win. RL cannot make the team play with the consistent mix of pace and invention needed to succeed at this level. We need four maybe five new players. If the club is taken over I cannot see new owners persisting with RL. But let's get this season out of the way and then see where we go from there.
I think his tactics have knocked any creativity out of them.

Did anyone stay for the lap of honour with Wives and families, i bet that was embarrassing for them.
6,000 leicester fans and a few hundred PNE ones, or did they decide not to do it?
TBF if it had been a Saturday match we usually stay, but not on a Monday night with an 8 o clock ko and only getting home at twenty past 11!

Just rewatched their second goal. Andrew Hughes is a fucking disgrace, just stood and watched Vardy smash it in.
As I saw it, Faes gets a shot away that hits the post, just misses hitting Freddie in the back, and a 37 year old centre forward reacts well before at least three of our defenders to smash it back into the bag. The whole defence was static and it was a shocking goal to concede.

Well a big thank you to the powers that be at Deepdale for my most miserable game since the lashers beat us 3-0 in the final game relegating us and promoting them.

I watched it through to the end, it was awful, truly awful, compounded by the party atmosphere of the away fans, and then with Leicester 3-0 some garbled announcement about a lap of honour at the end of the game???

Did they honestly expect home fans to wait ages watching the Leicester celebrations???

A truly shambolic , embarrassing and painful evening.

Least he won't get his shirt back from someone in crowd.
I’m
You can judge his set up, you can judge his substitutions, you can judge the shite he comes out with in interviews, you can judge his motivational skills.
I can't begin to figure out why he was played on the Right. He's useless that side. And he's an out & out winger on the pitch - (even on the wrong / RHS ) But not in a hundred years ever a wing-back- he's got minimal defensive positional skills & (along with the others) found it easier to retreat than confront the attacker and force him to play the ball/cut down their options.
Will we see him next season ? I'd like to- but on the left wing & never as any kind of WB.
Millar will be completely frustrated being played on the right. When he is on the left side he links up very well with Mads ( who seems to favour the left side of the pitch ). Brady would do a good job on the right even though he is left footed. Mahrez and Foden at City, Saka at Arsenal have proved that a ‘ left footer’ can make a success of playing on the right.
Millar was isolated for the game as he waved his arms at his team mates trying to get more of the ball. That game MIGHT have affected his future decision about staying with us . RL ..,you are an idiot !

Yeah I did . It was more like a traipse across the field . I just stood there glumly . I gave Browne a clap mainly for his service to the club . But apart from that just meh!
