The Reader Added Context and non-AI-generated replies suggest Romano has got it wrong.

Even the Wigan announcement makes a point of saying "he made over 200 appearances for Newcastle after graduating from the club’s Academy. Other than loan spells at Gateshead and St Mirren, Dummett has not played for any other club during his professional career".

It also quotes Dummett himself, who for some reason doesn't mention his boyhood links to the club he just joined.

Fab talks s*** if it's not about the CL or Man. City. I very much doubt any Geordie growing up in the 1990s was picking Wigan Athletic to support unless there was a family link to Dave Whelan!

Geordie, came through the Geordie academy

Fabrizio Romano hasn’t a clue about footballers unless the agent has given him a statement to pedal first

Gets paid by them for it too. Explains why he tweets about 50 times for one ongoing transfer 😂

Players we need to get rid off from our first team:

Hughes
Woodman
Thordarson
Whiteman
Okkels
Bowler
Whatmough
Holmes
Cornell

Non of them are good enough for the championship

Would add Storey, Lindsay, Ledson, Riis (think he just needs a change of scenery and maybe a move back to Europe toget his confidence back), wouldn’t be to bothered Potts left either has a good engine but his attacking play is pretty non existent

Lindsay, McCann, Mads, Osmajic and Best (if on a free at the end of the season) are the only permanent first team players we have on the books that I'd be genuinely disappointed to see leave in the next year or two.

I like Greenwood and would make him permanent for the right (low) price. KKH will be back at Villa and utilised there or shipped out to a top division side, so it's not even worth discussing. Bowler hasn't done anything to excite us, so no reason to make him permanent as things stand.

The higher ups need to pull their fingers out of their arses and restructure the squad, and they need to do it quickly.

Sadly, spaffing the best part of £2m on a winger, at a time when we didn't even have a manager in charge, is the latest in a long line of decisions that would indicate that the current regime can't be trusted to do so.

I will put money on the the ones in bold still being here next season.

We are in a serious battle. Hate to see the noise when the contract extensions are announced 🤣🤣!

Thing is, if we’re offering Riis and Storey a new contract, I’d be okay with it. I’d rather get a bit of money for them in a couple of years time than see them leave on a free next summer, especially Riis, but neither are good enough to do the job required of them at this very moment.

Storey has improved defensively but can’t cut it going forward. Riis is someone I’m torn on. We know what he’s capable of when he’s in form, but he’s been so underwhelming that I can’t put anywhere near as much faith in him as I did just a year or two ago.

With all that being said, Lindsay (rightfully), Woodman, Storey, Riis and Holmes will be offered extensions imo. The club have far too much pride to let that many players leave at one time, regardless of the need to improve.

Currently, we shouldn't be extending anyone's contract. They can all bloody walk for me frankly at the end of the season and we'll start again. I refuse to believe it would be any worse. Unless, of course, you let Riddler anywhere near the negotiations.
Can't believe the inevitable contract extensions that will come whilst we're doing shite.

This is the issue. Neither storey or Lindsay should be offered contract. They haven’t justified it. Two years ago Lindsay got a new contract and to be fair his performances probably justified it.

For then both their performances absolutely do not justify new contracts now.

It's typical PNE thinking of, well let's not lose them on a free. Why not? They're bang average Championship defenders that you could easily replace on a free as well. It's pure laziness from the top of the club to be honest.
I hope Hecky is telling Riddler to not fucking bother with any of them tbh.
