Well, they were supposedly down to the old manager until three games ago.

You are of course correct, and some of us have been saying that. He’s been poor under the new manager, too. It has to come from within.
Thats one of the few things I didn't pin on Hecky (aside from the first two games where he was playing right of a 442). He quickly ended up back in his usual position (regardless of what fans kept saying) and still did nowt

Genuinely though, what else could he play?

What sort of shape do you think will get the best out of what we have?
433 and when everyone is fit, from what we have right now, this.

Both the FB and Wingers support each other rather than a WB doing the job of 2, getting knackered / injured whilst usually having 2 up against him.

McCann sits, shields whilst Devine and Leroy progress play and support Kenny.

Storey in for Gibson as he is better in the air.

Toss up between Moran and Lang for that left side of the 3.

Iversen
Clarke Offiah Storey Vuc
McCann
Devine Leroy
Mills Kenny Moran/Lang

A lot hinges on that 'when everyone is fit'

He can't actually do that when three of the players you've listed we know are injured.

I'm glad you agree with me about Leroy. He's utter crap, I think he was cut a bit of slack, being foreign and all that, but that often happens.
FWIW, I dont think he's crap. but he's surrounded by shite, making him look far worse than he is, and I do believe since the beginning we can see there's a player there, but recently I think like Grezza he's realised the guff he's playing with.

With that said, He was beaten FAR to easily on Saturday leading to the goal, and same applied to last night, players just walk right past him. he seems to be great on the ball and has composure but it appears that's it at the moment, but he certainly cant shoot, struggles to influence a game.

The Jury is out for sure, he'll be a half decent player in the championship in the right set up and a bit of an upbeat attitude, but he does appear to be playing whilst thinking 'Jesus what have I done here' and that's affecting him from playing at his best.

I see him as just the latest poor sod with his neck on the chopping block really. Our issues run much deeper and higher.
I agree our issues run much deeper and higher but the manifestation of those issues is on the pitch with 24% possession and that’s down to our league one manager and his tactics. What team in a physical league like the champ can compete on 24% possession. No wonder our team is blowing out of their arse and GA will then be saying they’re not fit and then injure them with overload in training.Nevertheless Risdale is happy because no one is talking about his ineptness because he’s got the buffer of a club legend to shield him from the noise. These players are much better than the coaches and coaching staff they’ve been given .We were bad under PH but truth be told we are even worse under GA.PH and GA don’t know how to coach a side on how to play (possession)football which our squad is crying out for and it’s no surprise that almost all the coaches in the prem are foreign.Like them I believe the best form of defence is possession of the football and attack and not hoof ball and having centre backs doubling up behind wing backs and leaving spare me for the opposition to find which they will at this level.🤔

Changing the manager may not work as too much damage has probably been inflicted.
Keeping Heckingbottom wasn’t the answer though as he was complicit in extending the contracts of those sub standard central defenders.
It is currently a shit team with a bad attitude which started under Lowe and got worse under Heckingbottom
I did say at the time that Hecky’s comment along the lines of “where would PNE be without Storey, Lindsay, and Hughes” was pretty ridiculous.

Whichever way we spin it, this squad is far weaker than it was last season (despite what some said post-Lincoln), and that’s the primary reason why our results have been so poor. Losing Jebbison, Armstrong, Whiteman, Osmajic, and Dobbin has been massive - they were all established, more than competent championship players.

Given the results this calendar year, PH can not have been surprised to have been sacked. However, what I take issue with is the bullshit narrative whiplash. Our poor start to the season with PH was all down to him: poor subs, subs only on 60 minutes, bad tactics (with no real analysis or alternative in detail), lost the dressing room etc.

The following three games we have heard very, very little about tactics or timing of subs. All of a sudden, the players are ‘gutless pieces of shit’ and the issue goes way beyond the manager; the latter of which is true, but such sympathy was not afforded this season pre-Grezza after a shit transfer window (which 85% thought was good simply because we spent some money).

Preseason games, results don’t matter, it’s all about minutes in legs. 🤣🤣🤣

Performances and results will come?. Does anybody know when ? 🤷‍♂️
I have known poor preseasons that have been followed by successful ones and vice versa.
It just seems that this time both are going to be shit.
So preseason isn’t always an accurate indicator. Unfortunately this season it is.

We started this season clueless and weak, which was apparent through the preseason but not addressed.

Quite agree. The last 20 games of last season were dire as well. We have won 5 games in the last 30.
We did have a bigger budget than usual but recruitment has been shocking.
I suppose I was hoping that the increased budget would improve things on the pitch come the start of the season proper but the reverse has been true. Pretty disastrous situation

Well if grezza is looking at indivual performances, Devine sits on a bench for some time and Moran gets that slot, probably one of the better if not best north end players tonight having only played part of the game. If we are going to persist with the punt up the pitch try putting George gryba up with Lang whilst Kenny is injured, burgzorg offers very little at all. Got to start looking at some of the younger ones as the “regulars” look way off it. Even put young Reid and ayodele on the bench because of now it’s going nowhere.
Totally agree
