Confirmed Alfie Devine signs!! 5 year permanent contract

We actually sign a player who will be saleable in a couple of years and our fan base decide they’ll batter him down. It’s like some of our supporters hate to see someone do well. He's a 22 year old kid earning more than many of us dream of. He’s presently having a hard time on the pitch. Thats when “supporters” should get behind the boy. And remember why we wanted to sign him.

Some people who are still in the stands treated Kevin Kilbane in a similar way. Look how his career turned out.

Behaviour like this about one of the best talents we have is why some of us don’t deserve nice things!!!!

Probably no need for the last line but i agree with the sentiment!
 
I'll put my hands up and take accountability in all of this getting out of hand somewhat. I've had a frustrating day and when discussing North End with a friend they told me of this rumour and of the post.

I accept I likely drew the wrong conclusions from it. I do get annoyed by the prevalence of vagueposting, as demonstrated by the likes of Bruno Fernandes this weekend, but I accept culpability for misreading the situation. I have, ironically, shown how easy it is to post impulsively and without thought.

I am willing to believe JK and his sources. I want Alfie and the club to succeed together.

100% agree. It verges on the narrow minded. Time to get behind the players rather than discussing rumours of discontent. Ands that’s all they are.

Indeed, but I'm conscious of the damaging effect they can have especially when unfounded and I'm conscious it's important to point out when you get things wrong.

Alfie has been the subject of a few rumours lately and more division isn't going to help, even if intended or not. Let's let him do his talking on the pitch.

God there’s so much bed wetting going on by some of you lot truth is none of you have a clue what it meant and it could be about a number of things. Unsubstantiated rumours and all of a sudden he’s a rotten egg and has to go when he’s one of our most talented players 😂😂
 
From what I saw against Wrexham and even his half against West Brom, I think Alfie will see some more game involvement. Some might criticize the hoofball up top to strikers who aren't aerially competitive, but the way we're setting up with two 10s has made us much better at winning second balls in their half with space and time to make meaningful attacks. Spoken to a mate who's a fan of a L1 team and that's exactly how he said Bradford would make the game difficult for 90 minutes. It's not particularly pretty football but it gives the attacking midfielders a much easier job than trying to string together the midfield behind and forwards ahead of them.
