We actually sign a player who will be saleable in a couple of years and our fan base decide they’ll batter him down. It’s like some of our supporters hate to see someone do well. He's a 22 year old kid earning more than many of us dream of. He’s presently having a hard time on the pitch. Thats when “supporters” should get behind the boy. I actually agree with the sentiment to not pile on young players, but at the same time it's not mutually exclusive that he's immune from criticism for having a bit of a shocker of a start to the season in terms of levels v last year, and looking generally well off the pace.

If you subscribe to the view that we should back players regardless and they're immune from criticism we'd end up with a team of Woodburns and Onomahs.

Golden rule is keep your head down and work hard if things aren't going well on the pitch. We spent a wad on him and we're bottom of the league, expectations are there by pure virtue of the situation.

Feel like I'm taking crazy pills being the only person that seems to want to point out that a relegation fight is not supposed to be a picnic.
