Davies respects hard working Preston

Davies respects hard working Preston

Just remember there is two sides to every story, not just the story you'd hear from the club.

Well if the jumped up little shite ever releases his book, I am sure we will find out. 🙄

Debate all you want about his departure. His arrogance was evident for all to see. If we win tonight, I hope there is a large shout of "Job done" aimed at the tool

Of course. There is noboby more aware of this fact than me.

However, I think I know enough from Billys statements at the time to work out what his point of view is.

I am willing to accept I could be wrong and would be interested to learn what you know. What is Billys side to the story?

It's not his leaving or the timing of his leaving but the manner with which he left (sulking and moaning because PNE stopped him being interviewed by a non Premiership club) and the timing/manner with which he took his pals (just before start of pre-season training). The man is an excellent manager but has no class or loyalty (except to himself)

Who cares about him anymore anyway?
As for the BD love in, I think the events at Derby and again, already, at Nottingham can counter the 'hearing both sides' argument. Quite a co-incidence.

Radio interview with BD below. It was a shame how his time at Preston ended, and the manner of the way he left was somewhat disrespectful. To be fair we don't know, well I don't know the real reason as to why Billy left, just thankful we now have AI.

"I know the club [Preston] very well - I know the mentality of these players. "They're an excellent hardworking side and they will make life very difficult for us." (BBC Sport)

The past has gone the future's unknown but the presents a gift so do think BD will get it with both barrels tonight?

I'm glad Nathan Tyson's out too, I've always rated him, maybe a bit hit & miss but all the same he's a decent player.

Up the whites!

Sounds to me like hes trying to claim the success for this season as well as the one two seasons ago when i think we were 5th or 6th and when we played his team ,he said he was proud to have two teams in the top six.🙄How many players that are playing now actually played under davies🙄...........exactly.He knows nothing about the mentality of this set of players ,except that they fail and let us the fans down time and time again and always fall at the final hurdle,on second thoughts maybe he does.

Moyes walked out of deepdale with 8 games to go with us looking a safe bet for the play offs(we missed out under kelham)yet he is revered at deepdale as much as bd is despised

May i ask WHY😕

moyes stuck to his contract etc and is a gentleman hence he can still live in preston and hold his head up eye. when that old foreigner fails to take the plastic paddies to the world cup perhaps you would want stumpy. as he would sell his grandmother he is tailor made for that country for which you have no passport.

I seem to remember I was never really THAT bothered at the time. Sure, he was a good manager and did well for us but if he was kicking and screaming that much then just let him go. Took us a while to replace him after the Simpson debacle but we got there in the end.

Tonight is all about three points and NOT Billy Davies. His ego is already big enough without making tonight all about him.

I didn't think he came across like that at all, he said it how it was. He worked with some of the players and he knows their mentality and it's their mentality that has them where they are. He's said nothing but good in the interview. Time to forget about this IMO, all water under the bridge.

Plastic Paddies! steady!

From what I'm told BD was offered the Rep of Ireland job, as for his time at PNE, perhaps he felt he had taken PNE as far as he could, given the financial constraints at the club.

I feel that AI will too face this situation at some stage, must be so frustrating to work hard getting a team together, then not being able to add a bit more quality to take the club that step further and challenge for promotion.

It's true, but does any manager arrive believing that won't be the case? Not as if it's a big secret in the press what little our managers have had at their disposal over the years

You really need to ask WHY? 🙄 I suppose when you've spent your entire life begging on the streets its difficult to grasp what enables a man to hold his head high and deserve respect 🙄

There are two ways to go about things in life, the right way or the wrong way. Mr Moyes chose the right way, Mr "tw*t" Davies didn't and as a result does not have my respect, nor by the looks of it, the majority of PNE or Derby fans either.

You can - because you only seem to know/remember the above bare facts & SFA else.

Either one goes to Deepdale & attend the games, in order to find out the other 75% of the tale(s) - [you've also quoted the Palermo~Tom Finney OUTLINE scenarios] - or one doesn't.

Its obvious you don't. Hence you can only draw the same conclusions as Yer average SKY commentator.

I might come over a bit snobby to you on this one - but things are lots and lots of shades of grey - not Black & White .

the problem is we expect loyalty in football, but that just isnt the case in this day and age. Contracts mean nothing, and money everything. whether BD was rite or wrong to leave, he still did a great job in charge of the team. And plus how many think AI will stick around if a biggger team comes in wanting his services?

It was about the manner in which Billy Davies left and the damage he tried to cause after he left that people take issue with imo. Nobody would blame AI if a bigger and better job offer came calling but the difference being I would fully expect AI would leave in the appropriate manner with some decorum and respect for the club and it's supporters and not publicly spit his dummy. Billy Davies is a good manager but a deplorable person.

By all means give him flax once the match starts but before and after give him a clap for the great 4 years that he wasc at the helm at deepdale
Before bd was craig brown, after bd was simpson....'nuff said🙄
What if the club had allowed finney to join palermo back in the 50's....would finneys name be mud now as well???

Absolute bollocks. Finney would never continually blow his own trumpet whilst running down the name of Preston North End. That's exactly what the Davies did. He actually did a tremendous footballing job for us but I for one had already contacted Derek Shaw calling for him to be sacked way before he left, I couldn't read or listen to his interviews anymore.

In his mind he could get Bamber Bridge to the Champions league. He even compared Derby to Juventus to try and justify being a judas.

Its like in all of our jobs though, if someone came in and offered you double the pay your currently on would you turn it down? you would ask nicely to leave, if they stand in your way like north end did to davies then you would most likely do something about it..

like someone said earlier in this thread, we've only heard one end of the stick, it might be a lot different from BD's end.

Still cant see how walking out with 8 GAMES TO GO makes moyes less of a judas than bd

Everton agreed a fee with PNE before they talked to Moyes. Davies threw all his toys out of the pram so he could go to Derby. Derby were equally to blame for the problem, but BD shat allover us to get to Derby. Once they decided they wanted BD they paid up, but not the amount we wanted or his worth. A fee wasn't agreed for all the others and that's why Ned had a long holiday.

Oh and Moyes bettered himself a division above, BD went to a team lower than us.
