In some areas the club are incompetent.

This cannot be justified by saying over clubs are run more incompetently.

Anyway, I think the big e does make a point - there does seem to be an element of people who think Derek can do no wrong. Big E has perhaps gone over the top though and a little harsh.

Derek has done quite a number of things right - the new stand, signing Ross Wallace for example. He's also done a number of things wrong - employing Paul Simpson for example. Also, he comes across as a little negative sometimes in the media, "we're a small club", "we have no money".

So anyway, i'm sat firmly on the fence so it'll be a bit of 'Well Done Derek' and a bit of 'Oh Dear Derek'! 😀

Shaw has stated many times he would be willing to step down should someone else put their money where their mouth is. Step up Big E or piss off.
You must either be another club's fan or the most critical and miserable fan in the clubs history.
We are on play off weekend with the chance to get to the Prem and wipe out the club's debt instantly. Then we have money in the pot for sensible signings and the youth academy.
Shaw has been superb for PNE, has put a lot of his own funds in along with others and been very astute mostly in dealing with managers and backing them. As you seem to thing Simpson was so good, as someone else has stated was based on Billy Davies' side, who in his ultimate wisdom blew the Nugent sale money available on Carter and Nicholls.
He then got rid of Simple at the right time IMO and took a gamble on Irvine who saved this club from relegation aided by Shaw's backing last January.
He also put a lot of work into getting the new stand with the agreement with the bank and NHS. God knows how many hours he has put in over getting the stadium complete.
He has always backed his managers as much as we could afford, and again this weekend look where we are. Come on man get a grip and just enjoy this weekend and hopefully Wembley

This is a bit strange, we all support PNE because we do think we are the best and we do want them to be the best, do you have to support Manure to qualify as a fan now😕

Maybe in the future we could be the best team, but there are some on here who just critisize constantly because in their minds we should be playing and have players who are world class now. Simply not realistic. Just enjoy us being where we are and hopefully we can push on
 
I dont mind Derek per se. Its the people he surrounds himself with i.e. the marketing and general manager, who I think are pretty incompetent.


I do love how the usual suspect(s) laud Derek for running this club brilliantly when hes ran up over 10m of debt fixing his mistake in appointing Simpson. then give DS all the credit for any good work Irvines done because he appointed him.

Theres one word for these people (or more specifically person), and that word is CUNT.

All i remember is that when Shaw took on Simpson it was with most people's backing on this forum who either shouted for Simpson or Parkinson.
I am not and never will be a complete Shaw fan, prime example of my anger at not strengthening significantly in January again.
He is simply all we have at the moment and we could do lot worse like getting a Ridsdale in
