How do we think us PNE fans 'performed' yesterday?

I'm sure the players (and PH) will have sensed the frustrations, felt the tension and heard the loud moans from some of the more vocal PNE supporters.

In my opinion, shouting at Woodman for his horrendous (but unintentional) howler is bang out of order and inexcusable. I'm embarrassed by my fellow supporters when I hear this type of behaviour.

In the lead-up to our equaliser, the mood on the terraces (or should that be 'from the seats'? 👴) was tumbling and I sensed we were about to hear a loud sarcastic cheer for Riis' inevitable substitution. I am possibly Riis' biggest critic, as he continually struggles to retain possession gets out-muscled too easily... HOWEVER, I would never loudly cheer his substitution. Thankfully, the equaliser allowed the sub to be made whilst Deepdale was celebrating.

I think the vast majority of the PNE fans who attend Deepdale games have been positive since PH's arrival, but some can be too quick (and loud!) to get on players' backs.

How do others see/hear it?

12th man 😂 absolutely shocking abusing players , booing substitutions with a chorus of we’re the one and only north end thrown in for good measure if Keane bags early on the whole dynamic changes we were comfortable until the point we conceded it’s a tough watch but getting on players / managers backs is not the way forward

The home crowd were generally Angry.
Of course, during actual play, no-one should
be negatively verbal towards the home players.
But as soon as the HT whistle goes, it's different .

Although the only bit I took part in was a very brief shout at my complete bafflement over the greenwood / McCann subs, the whole thing was far from toxic. Maybe 100 or so in total jeering Woodman (not helpful in my opinion), a smattering of boos at the end (a year of frustration coming out?) and a good number chanting for our pacey, strong forward to be brought on.
It's barely worth commenting on, and if the players / staff can't handle what basically amounted to a few moans and groans along with asking for the introduction of a striker, they're on the wrong job.

I didn’t think it was that bad to be honest. Woodman's mistake was one of many this season and cost us points. It was the manner we conceded when significantly on top that was frustrating and fans have the right to vent their frustration.

My boss would at me IF I ever made a repeatable mistake. These players get paid a lot of money to represent our football club and are happy to receive the plaudits for doing their job.

Many of these players won’t be here next season but we as fans still will be.

Yeah, fucking embarrassing. Before people start crying, yeah they pay their money, so they can say what they want. But that doesn’t mean I can’t call them a bunch of morons.

I retired from the Town End a while ago but was on there yesterday. Disgrace. Not sure what they think it’s going to achieve.

Anyone fancy joining me at the back of the town end block AC and actually try and create an atmosphere feel free. To many bums on seats at the back of the stand nowadays.

Unfortunately there’s people on rows 37 and even 38 who prefer to sit down.

Yeah, again before people cry, they’ve paid for their seat so are entitled to sit in it. But it definitely has a detrimental affect on the atmosphere. There’s definitely fewer people standing on the Town End than even pre-Covid.

I think there's a balance to be had. No point happy clapping and cheering the players for being shit. Equally, no point in berating them and making it a bad atmosphere at our own ground.

There's fault on both sides but, as has been said a bit previously, fans pay their money and are entitled to show their feelings if they choose to do so.

I don't think every others teams fans are always happy, cheering and dancing around like some PNE fans would expect us all to be.

We've done fuck all as a club for a very long time, that inevitably means when things are going shit again, fans will make their feelings known.

And no, I've never booed a PNE player myself personally.

Fans pay their hard earned money they can cheer/boo as they like with the exception of the forbidden stuff racism etc.

I'm sure many of us deal with shite from other employees on a daily basis/have time off with work stress and ain't paid half what the team earns. Pay me their salary and call me want you want.

The reduction is atmosphere has been driven by recent managerial appointments, cheap McAvoy, gobshite Lowe, nothing to do with the fans. If either of them had done well and we were towards the top of the league this thread wouldn't even hit the board.

Never have booed but have jeered plenty of times over the years, yesterday included.

We accuse ourselves of falling into apathy and yet call ourselves shit fans for showing we're not putting up with shit performances anymore. In saying that, I'm not condoning abuse towards our players.

Maybe, just maybe, that the polls on here and in the LEP aren't a reflection of a small number of gobby folks. Just maybe there's a fanbase that has had enough of smoke, mirrors, and shit performances.

I genuinely believe we have a better manager than we deserve, given the absolutely fragile infrastructure of this club. The problems, despite what appears to be a good signing with Gibson, come from years of neglectful planning from Ridsdale upwards - and that goes back to the days when Trevor was calling the shots.

I've posted this before but this is exactly like the end of our last stint in this division. It took the drop to L1 for the club to realise they actually do need the fans onside. We're not quite in that position again yet but there are signs we're in no mood to put up with one decent performance once in every three or four games.

Don't forget #timeforaction - years of neglect (team, youth development, infrastructure, ground, matchday experience, engagement) won't be fixed easily.

Unfortunately, some of the 'supporters' at the back, middle of The Kelly Stand are very quick to winge and moan and jeer at our own team. they regularly disrupt any attempt by others to sing by often singing something different. Yesterday, they were particularly embarrassing when openly booing and jeering PNE players and then telling us to get off our hands and support the team...... laughable. Yes, you pays your £13, if you are a season ticket holder so you can have your own version of supporting your team. And, believe it or not, they are grown men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not young lads. Really is.the most pathetic thing I saw yesterday and much more annoying than the football on show.

Ideally we need it to be a hostile environment for the away team not our own though I do understand frustration can kick in with events like yesterdays goal.

trouble is most fans (but not all possible 60/40 split) see a club / team run on the cheap & realise sooner or later this will bight us on the arse, take frustrations out on the team is ok at times however most of the rage should be directed to ridsdale & rivitts but will we go & protest at there homes will we heck, im certain a lot of fans are happy with whatever is served up as its cheaper & more peaceful for them to get a season ticket than suffer saturdays with the misses shopping or pestering them, if thats where we have reached then ridsdale / rivitts have won

Would be good to get all the giant wavers out, if you and like minded fans would help out?

This isn't aimed at yourself, but we constantly see moaning about fellow fans/the atmosphere etc.

If those moaning about it, get together to try and create a positive atmosphere, those who sit on their hands, boo or in silence on the Town End would be drowned out.

When the Town End does get behind the team and the rest of Deepdale follows, it is a loud place.

Safe standing is also a must.

All that said, I totally understand why folks enthusiasm has been sucked out of them in recent seasons.

The vocal majority aren't they?

Nothing to do with us...

It really is. I went on the IP against Sunderland in the cup and the noise from the small number of fans on the town end really carried and sounded a lot more than the few hundred. Imagine if we can get a few thousand rocking again on a regular basis.
