When do they have to be published?
Our squad seems to pick itself without any exclusions
Woodman, Cornell
Ramsay, Storey, Whatmough, Lindsay, Hughes, Cunningham, Bauer
Potts, Millar, Brady, Browne, Whiteman, Ledson, McCann, Holmes, Frokjaer.
Woodburn, Riis, Keane, Osmajic, Evans, Stewart

That’s 24 including Stewart who I don’t think is age exempt because we signed him. The likes of Best, Mawene, Leigh, Seary, Taylor etc are exempted from inclusion due to age

We'll need to name one of the youngsters (likely Best) as a senior to comply with the "club developed" rule.

As Bobbage points out we would have to add Best to comply with the homegrown rule. But then even with a matchday squad of 20 you would have to work out which five outfield players to leave out if everyone was available. Bauer, Brady and Evans suggest themselves but after that it becomes a bit of a quandary. It is difficult to see Woodburn vying for a starting place, for instance, because he isn't enough of either a midfielder or a striker but he shows willing as a versatile sub option. I suppose the reality is that with players picking up knocks and suspensions then once the season was a bit further advanced there would almost always be at least a couple of them absent for one or other reason so the question would probably not arise.

Best for Stewart makes it still 24.
Main contenders to be left out of the 24 for the match day squad of 20 are Cunningham, Bauer, Best and Evans I would suggest or possibly Cunningham as a sub instead of Stewart if playing a back 4

When all fit, I’d leave out Cunningham, Brady, Bauer, Woodburn and Stewart from the 25, so keep Best and Miller for the left together with Hughes and if necessary Whatmough at LCB

Thinking about it, this could be the best squad, in terms of complimenting each other (as some will say the 2017 squad edges this), since the Billy D teams of 04/05 and 05/06.

Interesting debate to have.

Fucking hell mate, a week ago we were having to stick 5 kids on the bench just to fill it. Now it’s the best squad we’ve had for 20 years almost?

Think some (not you specifically) are getting massively carried away. We’ve not even seen the two new lads play yet.

We'll be able to judge by the end of the season. Proof is in the pudding.

We have endured some crap squads in the 19 years since BD 04.

Westley, Brown P, Fergie, end of Neal/Frankie/ start of Lowe.

I am not saying they are necessarily the best players, I said possibly the best to compliment each other. Big difference.

Anyway, thought it might provoke an interesting debate whilst nothing is going on until the Plymouth game.

It's certainly the best depth we've had in a good while.
No idea where Millar will play but he could potentially do a job up front, either wing, or behind the striker it seems. Holmes also seems very versatile too.

I'd certainly be looking for a new LCB in January to upgrade on Bauer and Cunningham. There's a guy at Exeter called Alex Hartridge who could be worth a look.
