Last season, Keane helped Monakana a lot, and hopefully he can do a similar job for Humphrey.

Most people are agreed that we need an attacking midfield player who can unlock defences. I am giving Hume that opportunity. Welsh to win the ball, give it to Hume and Hume to find Davies or Beavon.

Re Monakana - agreed. He plays better - at least when on the right - with an aggressive fullback supporting him. When he is on the left Monakana can 'self-start' much more easily by simply cutting in and running at the heart of the opposition defence.

Re Hume - why? Hume is not a midfielder but a striker. Byrom or Wroe even maybe Holmes playing as one of the central midfield pairing would be the players for that role.

I'm all for wingers rotating throughout a match but we got a good headerer of the ball and he needs crosses not wingers cutting in

The wingers we have are all pretty fuckin crap, some are lazy fuckers some wander about not beating a man all bloody game, get rid of the fuckers and play 433.

True - but we will still get crosses from the right with Holmes playing there, crosses that because they will be swinging in will only need a glance to send them goalwards and we will get plenty of crosses from the left with Hayhurst and Laird out there and a good few as well fom Laird if Monakana is used, as I think he should be, as the more purley attacking alternative to Hayhurst.

I agreed on the other thread with the 3 up top but without some width the big ball up to Davies will just come from none ball playing footballers

Holmes doesn't cross the ball that often when cutting in as much as being on the left

I would like to see us start with Davies/Beavon/Hume but Grayson wouldn't start with 3 strikers. Hume has the class to play attacking midfielder just behind Davies/Beavon and I think he would also score more goals by playing that role.

Will Grayson start with Davies/Hume/Beavon away from home?........not a cat in hell's chance. He is far too negative for that. No wonder Grayson was scathing after the 4-4 draw at Coventry, because these are the previous away league results under Grayson's leadership at PNE.

Hardly inspiring, 6 draws, 3 defeats and a sole victory 0-1 at Notts County.

jeez that looks like a binary collection.

I think we'll see our most defensive team yet tomorrow with Davies up top alone and both Buchanan and Laird in the side.

I'll say: Rudd, Clarke, Hunts, Wright, Buchanan, Humphrey, Keane, Byrom, Holmes, Laird, Davies.

Holmes playing just off Davies.

We'll win though.

Laird is dire on the wing imo. Holmes and Jeff any day for me on the wings. As long as the strikers shoot more (Beavon passed to Davies when he had essentially an open net) then we'll be fine.
Rudd
Keane-Wright-Hunts/SCS-Laird/Buchs
Jeff-Welsh-Byrom-Holmes
Beavon-Davies
SCS is worth a punt, Beavon-Garner may be worth a try in the last 10 minutes if we're winning by a decent margin.
