This is exactly what is needed JD, we need to build on the new sense of faith since Phil Brown came in, and to not sign anyone would most definitely be a massive downer as far as I'm concerned.

The last time we went down we sold Mike Flynn on deadline day which remains one of our biggest mistakes of all time.

Not selling Barton for £3million might rank alongside that.
 
Didn't PB say at the forum that Barton wouldn't be leaving whilst he was manager or words to that effect?

I have to agree Danny. I don't think it's Bartons fault. He is obviously a decent player but he's been overused this season. If the price is correct I'd snap their hands off and put some of the money towards Iwelumos or another decent strikers wages.

To be fair - yes he SHOULD/COULD be more advanced for a 20 yeear old - but Barton was only blooded this season & hasn't player THAT many 1st.Team Games, to be fair.


On another issue - if Pulis is such a mate of Phil Brown - why did he take back his loanees when Ferguson went ?

Pulis is deffo mates with FergieJnr.
 
Prestonlad whilst i also agree with Danny, I would not put the money towards increasing our wage structure. it would be better to use the money to buy Adam le Fondre, who will not break the wage structure and if we do go down would still score goals next season.

To be honest they looked like two good players and if we still had them now we would be playing ten times better.
