When you read the full paragraph though it is clearly aimed at the fans.

I do agree with others though. Fans attend football matches, post on a forum etc and whether you agree or not you are entitled to your opinions. Alan Browne seems quite hurt by these opinions and it seems to bother him but unfortunately that is part and parcel of football. If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Now if he get's upset by a few fans saying he's terrible etc then he's in for a rude awakening at Sunderland.

I should add as well it's just a small minority so to be upset about that then he needs to grow a backbone.

You need to read the article:

All he talks about are the fans.
 
In my opinion having your club captain who won’t commit to staying is not good for the team as a whole.
He has had plenty of opportunities to show off his talent and if he believes he has been targeted by fans then so be it.
Every Preston fan I have ever met just wants the players/team to succeed. Frustration with the results and performances will always be vented somewhere.
I’m not that bothered about Alan Browne, or any other player, as we all know if they are outstanding they will be gone as soon as a decent offer comes in.
Good luck to him. I hope he makes a success of it up there but I’m more concerned about what is happening at Deepdale.
 
Wouldn't be surprised if theres more to the 'leadership' comments that Lowe seems to be constantly making. Maybe things said behind the scenes to Browne in relation to this. Wouldn't have surprised me in the slightest if Whiteman was going to be be made captain even if AB stayed.

This is odd, it’s suggesting we held past years form against him when his better form was in past years, ie under AN.
If he thinks his most recent form was his best he’s deluded.

Really like Alan Browne, but his words aren't something that I recognise from our fan base. Certainly not in the last few years, anyway.

Coming across as a bit of a victim complex. He should just say he and the manager didn't see eye to eye (as we all know).

We dont all know though, do we?

At best we have educated guesses, but what I do know is that there have been occasions, on here, that hes taken pelters, as have many of his tem mates. I know Ive been guilty of criticising performances of some players.

Well, you might not know then.

But yes, he has been criticised for performances. Just like other players have. I don't think he's ever taken the brunt of it (unfairly), hence the supporters' POTY award.

and he isnt alone in thinking that in the dressing room.......but seeing as everything is Lowe's fault (and much of it is tbf)....we dont have to like it when players mention preferring to play away from it....

One or two on here have given him a bit of stick but should pro footballers really be reading fans forums?

A few years ago he was cheered ironically off the pitch.

Then he got the abuse at the end of the game against Huddersfield.

Sometimes as footballers you have got to take that with a pinch of salt. I'm not agreeing with the fans ironically cheering or shouting abuse at our players. But in my opinion, players shouldn't moan about it.

The English national team were doing it all throughout the tournament. The best place to do your talking is on the pitch.

Do we? it's the narraive on this forum, but I've yet to see him mention it in any way, shape or form.

They really shouldn't look at any comments online. It's mostly vitriol and hyperbole. I really don't think they should be active on social media either to be honest unless they're promoting good causes like Rashford did with his free school meals campaign. You can easily get absorbed in social media but the best way to approach it is at arms length and by keeping busy having a life outside of it.

You get a warped perception reading the opinions of folks online because small voices can carry for greater distances. If I'm using this forum as an example; although there are a lot of members, there is a core set of posters who post on here daily. If a number of them don't rate you as a player, you will see a lot of posts criticising your performances when actually it could just be the same 10 people making multiple posts. It's hard for people to look dispassionately at criticism that is being levelled at them and even then some of the posts might be a bit insulting.

It isn't really a productive use of their time and is likely to just wind them up. Players are better off judging their own performances based on what they think, what the coaching staff thought, what their teammates thought, what their friends/relatives thought, and maybe what the crowd response in the stadium was. Reading comments online will just make you fixate on the opinion of random and probably unqualified individuals (such as myself). Fans forums are really just for fans.

Think I would avoid doing it for the sake of my mental health. Hardly get balanced opinions anyway. Wouldn’t want focus on vitriol and negativity.

I highly doubt he's reading the fans forum, but over the years, he's definitely received criticism on social media. Not so much this season, as he did have his best performing season in some time, but prior to that, there's been a lot of it. So it's obviously stuck with him.
 
I hope that’s Ron calling us names on Facebook like some jilted girlfriend. Apparently we all have the same view on Browne. Who knew
