Harrison Armstrong certainly has to be up there with good loans. How our season literally went belly up when he went back speaks volumes.
With both him and Alvaro, you could see that they're not done yet and have a very high ceiling, and that their touch was something else. Both very classy players, each with a couple of raw points but you knew both were going to the top just on the "eye test".

Alfie Devine I think could get there, but he's had a bit longer in the oven and I think we're seeing him as a more complete player with maybe a slightly lower ceiling. Not to do him any disrespect as he's a wonderful player and more than capable of building a career in the Prem.

Going to be an interesting one this cos if we don’t sign him then what’s changed?

At least Alfie and Harrison have demonstrated to some that there’s a lot more to being a good midfielder than simply waiting in the centre circle all game for the oppo to overhit a pass to you…

Still reckon they stay up, very tight down there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds come down. West Ham Leeds last day of season could be huge

Every other team down there is showing way more fight than Spurs.

The players just look like they can't be bothered.

No way he stays here unless we get taken over and he gets offered a competitive wage, even then it's unlikely with the options he'll have on the table.

He sounds extremely mature and careful with what he says. Of course we'd all be delighted if a deal can be reached to keep him here and there is plenty in his commentary to take encouragement from. Fingers crossed....

We have to be realistic, if Spurs go down as I think they will, they'll almost certainly want Alfie to stay there given his experience of the level with us this season and the fact he's been fantastic for us.

If that happens, we have no chance. He'll surely want to go back and play in that stadium in front of 61k every other week, probably win the league and go up and stake his claim to play in the PL for Spurs.

Under this scenario, it's a no brainer for him!

I agree it does make things less likely, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion he'd be in their first team even at this level.

Not every player in their team would suddenly disappear. A few would get snapped up but likes of Newcastle, Leicester in recent times have kept incredible squads at this level.

They might also want to cash in on players like him to raise some extra funds if they hit financial difficulties due to a relegation. Not clued up on their finances so not sure how likely that would be.

All that said, I'm still not expecting him to be here. I refuse to get my hopes up.

Yeah I can see a situation where they sell him just to increase their spending power with FFP and everything. Wasn't there a story about their players not having relegation clauses? They really could have all sorts of financial issues if they get relegated

So if we trigger the option to buy can Spurs just refuse? What’s the point of these options if they can simply renege on the agreement?
