Ali McCann
Good choice IMO
Strikes me as a young captain, but got plenty of international and championship experience. Hopefully this is a good move for him and the squad.

Very good point. He's 26 but looks so baby faced it doesn't help him much 😂Older than both Browne and Clarke were when they became captain

i.e. not very good.“Ali epitomises everything about Preston” is spot on tbf
Jury is out on whether that’s a good thing or not
Nowt against the lad. He seems a decent sort and gives it a good go on the pitch but the fact hes now considered a shoe-in starter is a good illustration of where we currently are.
Eh?It's spot on.... And my lad just texted me this from Tenerife .. " Excellent decision ".... You listening @Jack Daniels ? 😀
We were about the only 2 fans of Ali on here a few years ago when he was getting grief.

I know, that's what I meant..... Good move this in my view. 😀
McCann is miles better than he's given credit for. Statistically one of the best tacklers in the league, reads the game well and ranks high for interceptions and blocks, good at carrying the ball out of trouble and eating up yards, and his limited passing is overplayed.
He'll never pass through the lines and make things happen but he retains it pretty well, and his pass completion numbers back that up. Alongside a 'playmaker' and Devine there should be zero onus on him to be attacking anyway.
His shooting is absolutely terrible, mind, which is a shame as he gets in good positions.
My main issue is that he keeps getting injured, and probably needs to managed throughout the season.

Hopefully he new pitch can help that, not the entire cause but looks like a some of his niggles and injuries came from the terrible out of date pitch. Bit more midfield depth can help manage his minutes if he’s looking for to be hitting the red zone.
Obvious selection and no brainer, always gives 100% and will expect nothing less from those around him. Gibson a good back up as well.
I have lost the emojis to add likes, hates etc anyone know why?

In the right games yeah. Against sides that sit in a low block and play direct he is the square root of useless.
I'm hoping the two midfield options we're adding today should mean we can rotate him more throughout the season, and improve upon his fairly shocking availability

Same. I’m guessing it’s a patron function?
