attendance v carlisle

attendance v carlisle

There have never been trains on boxing day and this match has been planned for months so it is not like you have not been able to make alternative arrangements.

Not true. There used to be trains on Boxing Day, certainly in the 70's, when I last used a train on Boxing Day.

You don't read your own boards much do you? Elsewhere on here one of you said that PNE had sold 13,800 (I repeated it) and apparently we have sold 3,978 by 6 p.m. so...

13,800 + 3,978 = 17,778

So far.

Merry Christmas and here's hoping Santa brings you a calculator and an attention enhancer.

On the travel: it is highly likely that if trains had been running an extra 1000 would have come. Buses have been hard to arrange as drivers have been reluctant to give up their time. The majority will be driving and car-sharing; much more than normal.

I hope that PNEFC has taken the lack of public transport into account and arranged suitable parking for us real northerners as well as you.

Merry Christmas and a rotten Boxing Day!!!

UTB!

PNE 1 - 3 CUFC

Those extra 1000 people are not really fans then are they?

It's been arranged in advance, no trains is no excuse in my eyes. If I wanted to go to a match I'd be there.

No trains on the day is irrelevant.

Why you bringing so many anyway?

I believe Carlisle United do not organise offical coaches for you fans and leave it to the supporters club and a coach firm. Perhaps if you had contacted and complained to your club about the lack of public transport and difficulties with coaches as much as you have posted on here telling us about how the lack of trains has reduced your following by 1,000, they might have done something on your behalf ? ! 😕 😉
Merry Xmas

Well, it's not irrelevant to one PNE fan in North Wales who complained on these boards that he was royally buggered due to lack of trains. I mean, why not hire a car?

As for why we are bringing so many down; well, I can't speak for the rest but I personally have been fascinated by your bus station and the wry wit of Prestonians. On a TV programme, discussing the aesthetic merits of your bus station one citizen of your 'city', when asked what he thought of your bus station stated that "it was a pretty good place to catch a bus".

With these two elements in place - an interesting bus station and an immeasurably practical population - it is easier for an outsider to appreciate the lure of Preston. So, before the game, I plan to visit your bus station and admire its form and if fortunate enough, may be privy to some of Preston's fabled humour and dry wit.

Merry Christmas

P.S. Thank you Longshanks. Incidentally, Edward Longshanks died less than a mile from my house.

To be fair, that one PNE fan from Wales who you speak of is an utter fucking Dillon.

You really should know this.

I really fail to understand this "Transport Issue" that you keep referring too.

Coaches/Cars/Mini Buses and the like are common place even in Carlisle surely?

I recall us taking 5000 to Stoke on Boxing Day a while ago, and I don't remember anyone moaning about no trains that day.

Bringing nearly your full home attendance is a good effort, however stop pretending that had there been trains on there would be a extra 1000?

Merry Christmas to you, but I hope you have a bloody horrible boxing day 😉

Agree with this. How can Carlisle bring another 1000 fans to this fixture, they dont have that many home fans!

How did PNE manage to take 34,000+ fans to the Bolton Wanderers play off final match and a similar number to the West Ham play off final?

Those two games were North End's cup final (literally) and the game v PNE is Carlisle's.

I think there'll be around 15,000 and New Year's Eve 17,500.

Think you could be right, the offical North End website quoting ticket sales for all areas have exceeded 14,000, yet still saying potentially biggest atendance of the season. If only 14,000 + have been sold for all areas then can't see us passing the Tranmere attendance and 15,000 could be about right. Figures just seem low on earlier reports ?

Not so. They've already been there this year and won.

Within the space of 6 days, we will twice surpass The SCUMS biggest crowd of the season by some distance both in numbers and % wise.

H0! - HO! - HO!

19,007 btw I reckon.
