What did RL have against Bauer
Prior to his injuries we had one of the best defences in the championship.
Now we have the worst defence.
Can't blame Bauer for wanting to get out but would the goal difference have been as bad if he been given more starts
I doubt it

He was a good signing in AN's system.

Had the bad injury under Frankie.

Clearly Lowe didn't feel he could be effective in his system.

Does feel a total waste a solid championship CB like him has just been warming the bench last two years. He was on a free so would be one of the higher paid players in the squad aswell. Wonder what loan enquiries have been made in last year and why he hasn't gone out somewhere just to get a bit of valuation back as now clubs would rather wait and just take him on a free given his inactivity.

Ruptured Achilles is a potentially career-ending injury. about 20% do not return to sport and many never return to previous levels.

A friend's surgeon described the operation to him as like sowing two shaving brushes together.

Whilst I love the pair of them, Hunts and Bauer in an effective backline shows just how big the gap between league 1 and the championship has got in the last half a decade or so
I think age is a big factor, both sadly having their best years behind them.

The bad injury was under Alex Neil. It was Bournemouth away.

Personally I always felt he has been an average player for us even before his injury. In the 19-20 (when he signed) Season we kept 9 clean sheets all season.

If we want to improve the defence we need to do better than a free transfer from Charlton.

I have heard a rumour from a Carlisle United supporting work mate, that they are after him in January.

He can do better than that unless he's completely finished.

You'd think a top end league 1 side like Derby or Bolton would be all over getting him in for six months given he played a big role in Charlton getting up before coming here.

Or even Huddersfield or Sheff Weds in this league.

Ah fair, confused the Bournemouth aways as won down there under Frankie aswell IIRC.

He was a free from Charlton but then so was Lockyer when he moved to Luton from Charlton a year later. Thought Bauer and Davies with Fisher and Hughes either side was solid enough until contracts started to run down and players inevitably got unsettled by the lack of urgency from the hierarchy. Summed up the last season of AN.
