Someone tell me exactly why we spent £1.5m on this guy please.
I can’t see what value he adds. Gally would offer more if he came out of retirement.
I know we don’t spend a lot on players but when we do; Bayliss, Ledson, Riis, Potts and Whiteman they are normally not good enough

Looks like a standard, wooden, extremely limited lower league player every time I've seen him.
No fluidity, intensity or variation to his game, whatsoever.

Might sound strange but I think he's one of those players that would look good in a decent team. One problem....

Are they not good enough, or are they “normally”not good enough? You mean they have a good game once in a blue moon?I can’t see what value he adds. Gally would offer more if he came out of retirement.

He's one-paced for sure but he is a playmaker playing in a team and under a coach that have no intention of 'playmaking'.
I'm not advocating bringing a manager in for one player of course but one of the reasons I was quite attracted to the idea of Grant McCann over the summer was that he has previously got the best out of Whiteman.

Certainly isn't showing why he was so highly thought of. We badly need a new manager in to shake everything up and to try and get a tune out of these players. Whiteman didn't look like he had a clue what his job was supposed to be tonight.

I'm not sure Whiteman has done anything wrong so far. He wins the ball, gives it to the flaccid forward line and they do very little with it.

Wins the ball? Who the fuck did he ever tackle?
I’ve not been overly impressed with him, but you can tell there’s a player there.
He’d look a much better player next to a Pearson-type.

Sick of hearing good things about him. People just listen to how good he was at Doncaster and how much we paid. He is crap! Maybe a good player in there somewhere but would happily see us recoup what we can for him at this stage. In fact who cares, I dont care for Hemmings or his money. He can carry on pissing it all away for a lost cause.

He’s never played in that position. We already have half the team out of positon, let’s not make it worseSo far, I agree he looks pretty wank but he has come to a club where Alan Brown NEEDS to play whenever fit so finds himself in the wrong position. I would try Whiteman as a 10 personally

Yay, another one!?
Browne's playing as a makeshift DM to stop him having to do any of that nasty donkey work. If he ever justifies it, wake me up, yeah.

Fair dues. I don't get any idea where he is meant to play. Looks pretty bloody average all round with few statistics to make a case for him.
