Our so-called big screen is a total embarrassment! It's the worst that I have seen at any league or non league ground. Considering that it's a Preston company that makes them it's a disgrace. Surely advertising would help pay for the initial outlay. At the very least they could be contacting Everton to buy theirs as they are moving to their new ground at the end of the season,

Couldn't agree more and I've said it since it was installed. It's like watching a 24" TV by todays standards. Appalling is being polite. Taking into account we've got four corners of the ground where a PROPER big screen could be placed it's nuts. Add to that, the half finished stand, makes you wonder what other supporters think about the stadium. 75% finished I'd say.
It'll do' attitude' all over it!

Well done Derek was behind the installation of the original big screen and it was originally capped at the size it is because the roof could only support so much weight. Technology has moved on since then so bigger and better ones would work well in the corners but advertising revenue wouldn't come close to covering the extra costs.

Who pays for all the boards around the pitch then??
They must cost something.
So advertising should be able to fund it.
Big problem is where to site it ???

The boards around the side of the pitch run adverts all the time. Once the match is on the big screen mainly shows the game. The pitchside adverts catch people's eye more because they're looking at the ball. John Beck was potted 30 years ago to the balls rarely near the top of the stands these days so if the big screen was purely for adverts then people would rarely look at it.Who pays for all the boards around the pitch then??

If you are watching the ball you don’t see the ads.
They just become part of the background and your brain ignores them.
That’s why they do that daft thing with the dog to break it in to attract.
Even when you see it you don’t remember it.
Most feedback on screens shows they are ignored. I’ve seen feedback buried because it’s so poor.
Digital screens are great for content and control, reality is people ignore them, and now there are so many it’s known as digital overload.
Have you noticed they are double banking them in some grounds now.
But it’s a big selling business and companies go with it.
Dwell time is only 0.5 of a second, Quick Look and move on….
Only one I look at is the one showing replays….

They have one near the away corner but visiting fans cannot see it and I think there may be a second in the other corner on the same sideDon't think Norwich had a screen at all last night.
old Trafford and anfield don’t have big screen . Just score boards . Var is done by the pa doing the decision pending . I only found this out yesterday . Whilst talking about the Burnley game and big screens
Ah. I see we’re winning games and virtually safe. Let’s all have a whinge about the fkn telly.
Was about to say similar. I couldn't give a shit about the screen to be honest, rarely look at it.Ah. I see we’re winning games and virtually safe. Let’s all have a whinge about the fkn telly.
The pitch is where any investment needs to be. Although our home form is good with it being dire, so maybe we should keep it that way.
Our 'big' screen is like a portable!....I thought Rotherham,s was good, like them stick it in a corner maybe between the Town End & Finney inf ront of the floodlight.Who pays for all the boards around the pitch then??

If that's the worst you've seen I'd suggest you've not been to many grounds.
Things must be improving on the pitch if the moaning has shifted to the not so big screen.
Do you want a big screen or a big striker. Can't have both according to the rules as laid down by Ridsdale.
Can we have a big screen and a little nippy striker then?
