If he had shown more tactical nous and/or balls against West Ham we would have had our day in the sun.

What more could we have done in that final? Certain players never turned up. However, a year later, if the Board had backed Billy further, not selling Cresswell for a start and later in season instead of them only giving him enough money for Marcus fucking Stewart on loan, we might have done it. Them 2 years we deserved promotion, shame the board weren't prepared to take a risk on money as they have been for the last 2-3 years on shite like Shumi, Nicholls, Hawley, Carter, Gallagher, Collins, Ricketts, Pergl, Soley, Hart, Chaplow etc.

You don't need the money if you have the tactics, as proved today. Rubbish excuse that the players did not turn up. Pathetic tactics cost us. I hate Billy Davies!
Yes. Boring history lesson. We are where we are. What's happened has happened. Move on.

Tell me what you would have done different against West Ham then? Our tactics were always 4-4-2 that season. The only change he could have made, was Alexander to start at right back, drop Davis and play Mawene at centre back. In hindsight that was what he should have done. However, the way we played at Derby, why would any manager make a change? This is a fact, Davies wanted Nugent to be on the bench for the Play Off Final. But he was scared that people like you would have hung him from the floodlights.
We should have beaten West Ham. I admit that. But you then shouldn't sell your top goalscorer (Cresswell) and spend the money on players like Anyinsah, Hibbert, Neal, Dichio, Stewart. We were a weaker side the year we lost to Leeds, yet the other teams in the Play Offs were just as weak. We could have easily have gone up that year if the Board had spend the same money as they did with Simpson and Irvine in charge on the likes of Shumi, Nicholls, Collins, Gallagher, Trotman, Hart, Chaplow etc. If Billy Davies had that amount of money to spend when in charge of us, we'd have been in the Premier League years ago.
"billy davies is a ******".
He is. He is a knobhead of a person, but an excellent manager. That man took us the closest we've ever been to the Premier League, and that was on a limited budget. If he'd have had the millions that Simpson and Irvine wasted, we'd have at least had a year in the Premier League by now.

His record is not showing that these days.

Billy Davies will, imo, one day manage PNE again. 🙂

Wishful thinking that JD.
Derby away, will IMO forever have burned that bridge.

This time, he won't fail at the final hurdle.
Some people, in time, need to swallow their pride. I'm looking at you DS, if you're still around. 🙄
Those who have said that a fully backed Davies in 05/06 would have taken us up are 100% correct.
PNE never ever learn.
