Black Players.

Black Players.

My thoughts on the most pointless thread ever are thus :- the colour, religion & voting preference of any player at PNE is of no concern to me whatsoever. The thing I tend to judge players on is their ability on the pitch, & sadly a good number of our players are woefully lacking in that department.

Are you arsed about creed mate?

I have no problem with the observation in the OP. As the game kicked off, I thought the same to myself - as in, "I think this is the most black players if seen for PNE at one time". It's not a racist remark, just an observation.

Although with Arthur Wharton, we're proud to be the first English club to have a non-white player, after Ricky Heppolette moved on we had no black players for absolutely ages. For much of the 1980's PNE & Everton seemed to be the only clubs in the country with no black players, and I wondered if the club was racist then? I like to think that it was just coincidence at the time, and it's just a coincidence that yesterday we had half a team of black players.

To answer the original poster, I can't remember this many "players of colour", playing for North End. I think it does highlight Wayne Browns stupidity in both his political beliefs and his decision to advertise them. He works in an industry with a higher proportion of people from ethnic backgrounds and from other nations on temporary working visas, than any other.

The fact he has been kept out of the team by Craig Morgan in recent weeks does nothing to help his cause either.

He's been injured.

Are you alluding to the fact that Morgan is Welsh? 🙂

Good post by the way.

To be fair it is a shit thread though.

I am always proud we're part of the Arthur Wharton story though, the first black footballer in England.

I'm pretty confident that that 'team' never played together!
