Byrom is playing with a injury

If Byrom was unfit yesterday then the right selection with Welsh injured should surely have been King and Wroe in central midfield with any two of Cummins, Beavon and Garner upfront. As I keep pointing out we simply don't have a satisfactory alternative to Monakana for the right of midfield. Both Wroe and King have been tried there and been found ineffective. From what I can tell the only player who has even looked remotely as though they could do a useful job there apart from the inconsistent Monakana is Procter. Maybe with Connolly on-board Keane when he is fit can give us the aggressive alternative - not just a different player but a different type of player - we need for that position, but that is presumably still weeks away or is it. When will Keane be fit again?

He said he hopes to return by mid February.

Thanks - which means that at the very least we need an aggresive right-side midfielder on loan till then. But we have needed such a player since the start of the season and I have just seen no indication from GW that he even recognises that such a requirement exists. Instead he has has added resources in areas of the team -Foster in central defence, Elding upfront - where we have already had sufficient players.

So because he started the season playing out of position, that makes it okay to play him out of position yesterday? He's a centre midfielder, not a right midfielder.

Has Byrom been playing right midfield then Pal? Blimey, Westley truly has lost it if that is the case Pal.

No he played an unfit, and shite Byrom in centre midfield, and moved our top goal scorer who is a centre midfielder to right midfield. Westley's clueless managing strikes again.

But we drew yesterday whereas with our so called "strongest side" with players in their correct positions (Bar King) we were dicked on by Walsall.

Yesterday's result was just papering over cracks for me.

I agree, nothing changes for me and although I was pleased with yesterday, 1 point is not going to change much. We need a consistent run of results now and regardless of what happens on Tuesday night vs Crawley, a win next Saturday is a MUST against a struggling Shrewsbury side.

We don't need the manager telling us Joel Byrom is not fully fit.

Fucking look at him.

Need to open ya eyes and face the pitch if you thought Wroe played right midfield yesterday. And I thought he bagged in the 2nd half?

I think Wroe started on the right with King and Byrom CM and Holmes left. Monakana was up top with Cummins but it switched at some point in the first half to King up top with Cummins, Monakana on the right, Wroe and Byrom in the middle and then Holmes on the left.

You need to open your eyes! He started with Wroe on the right, with King and Byrom in centre midfield, with Monakana playing behind Cummins. This then changed during the first half with Wroe moving to centre mid, Monakana right, and King behind Cummins.

We could easily have started with king and Wroe in the middle and Cummins and Beavon up front. We effectively played with ten men yesterday as Byrom was a passenger. I can't remember him having any meaningful involvement. If he isn't fit then fair enough but then he shouldn't be playing.
