Shows how we have fallen when signing of youth players is portrayed with such excitement. As we have not produced a youth player to play over 20 first team games here since Josh Earl I will reserve judgement. Good luck to the kid but I hear he has been injured so sounds familiar

Aye ✅

The genuine ITKers on the Cork City side have been saying this is a signed sealed and done deal for months.

I assume this means they have received the training compensation package and we're just waiting for him to be fit to announce things.

Was a talented boy before his second ACL. Post-injury I would prefer us to have shifted our focus on to Brody Lee and/or Cillian Murphy, both younger and better players with a far higher ceiling IMO.

Some miserable fuckers on here. Kid just signed for a Championship side and people have ended his career. Alan Browne and Bailey Wright did alright.

Browne wasn't heralded as much as this lad either from the same place and hes done more than alright.

Played 50 games in Ireland when 18 years old after 2 big ACL injuries is more than worth signing. Worse case hes back in there like the lad O'Reilly we had whos had a good LOI career.

With post brexit rules meaning it's harder for irish talent to be in the bigger academies so likely some good uns thats ripe for a club of our size. Brighton have swept up plenty over the last few seasons around 15-16 but they don't pay mega money to or for them - all of them ended up championship level or so, great for us. Us paying 1.5m for Moran has probably paid for the entire Irish project for them actually

A couple of the bigger potential lads have recently gone to Arsenal and Spurs.

The multiclub ownership model thats all so trendy - we were right there with Trev and his Cork connect. Could have used them as a bit of a feeder league (surprised this hasn't been done actually with an irish team) for young talent and get them game time at a decent enougb level when young and then take advantage of VISA legislation in Ireland.

It would have been a medium to long term investment mind so suppose thats why it didnt happen
