Agree with your points but for 3 out of 4 years he was back up and not third choice.Dai was a really really top guy, who was in the squad as third choice keeper and whose main role was to assist in training routines which require one goalkeeper for each 6 or 7 outfielders. He was never really expected to be first choice and play games except in extreme emergencies and was paid accordingly. No club like North End can affors to pay 3 first team ready keepers. He never gave anything except his absolute best yet lots of unfair criticism went his way. I wish him every success.
3 years as a backup for North End - never called upAnnounced that he's in the Welsh squad. Obviously as back up, but still... not a bad week for Dai 👏
He’s not going as a training keeper, he’s replacing Karl DarlowThis whole getting a training keeper for international squads seems very weird to me.
England doing it with the deadful Jason Steele as well.

No, he’s their straight up backup - like Nicholls is for us. Tom King is the training keeper, 31 and “plays” for Everton - 8 games since 2023Surely that's still just a role of training keeper?
He's basically Michael Crowe.

Even worse when you realise their first choice is Danny Ward 😂Jesus.
I am still not over L2 as he then was Chris Gunter aged in his mid 30s at Wimbledon making the cut for The Euros (or was it The World Cup?) ahead of Championship player Andrew Hughes.3 years as a backup for North End - never called up
3 months unemployed before signing for Leicester as a back up - called up
If Andy Hughes wasn’t already a prime example, playing for a big name club is more important than how you actually play for the Wales FA
Who? (genuinely)No, he’s their straight up backup - like Nicholls is for us. Tom King is the training keeper, 31 and “plays” for Everton - 8 games since 2023
Where do you think I got the info from? I was in the process of telling Hunter they only had two keepers in the squad before deciding to check whether he could be another oneWho? (genuinely)
I'm going have to google him.
Edit - still none the wiser!
Btw, 9 games, seems he sneaked one in for Wolves sometime in the 2023-25 seasons!

Got lucky there or just sums up standard of Welsh goalkeeping. If I was him, I'd be asking to re negotiate his contract as an "international"Announced that he's in the Welsh squad. Obviously as back up, but still... not a bad week for Dai 👏
Yes, turns out the other lad is half Chinese and of a similar standard, Doo Ying, he has a couple of caps.Where do you think I got the info from? I was in the process of telling Hunter they only had two keepers in the squad before deciding to check whether he could be another one
He’s way better than Michael Crowe. He kept a clean sheet once.Surely that's still just a role of training keeper?
