Daniel Iversen's form

Daniel Iversen's form

How much of that is down to him and how much is down to the poor defending in front of him. It’s very subjective.

For clarity

"Calculated as xGOT conceded from shots on target faced, minus goals conceded. So it’s a number that shows how many goals the keeper would have expected to concede vs how many he actually conceded."

The defender's job is limiting chances, the goalkeeper's job is to stop the chances that happen.

If this was shot volume and xG, I'd agree the defence is very culpable. However failing to save shots that are on target is almost always down to the goalkeeper. If they were all just high quality shots, the goal prevented would be much smaller

The Iversen one really is poor. The only defence I can offer him is that maybe he thought that Lang's tackle was going to offer a deflection. It is still from further out so he's got slightly more time and he's got fewer players blocking his visibility though Stowell has though.

Accepted, but how accurate is the algorithm, is it just the number of shots or the quality of shots. If it’s the former and poor defending may be resulting in more better quality efforts on target, that would be down to the defenders not the goalkeeper as there would be more efforts on target you would not expect the keeper to stop.
