Noticed a few times some strange text rendering in Dark Mode when different fonts are used, e.g. the table in this post looks fine in Light Mode, but looks like this in Dark Mode:

Same sort of thing happens e.g. in this post, and others in that thread.
 
The above reported effect is still occurring (see screenshot below from today - the second half of the text in this post is not rendered readably in Dark Mode, but is readable when manually highlighted or when Dark Mode is turned off).

Also note the Search box in Dark Mode is white text on white background, so just a big white blob in the corner.

Dark Mode isn't really useable like this.
 
The look of the forum overall has gone downhill today. Every page has gone out of proportion and the patron badge, what's going on there? There's been an attempt to fix something that wasn't broken.
 
Been working on the forum for the past 8 hours... patience is a virtue chaps.

Like I said, I have been working on this all day. I have been concentrating on light mode and the last hour on dark mode.

Please be patient with me.

Just to confirm, the following problems still exist in Dark Mode:

1. Text in certain posts is unreadable, dark-on-dark (examples linked in posts #1 and #2 above).

2. Search button top right is a bright white blob with unreadable yellow text. (post #2 above). Needs to have a dark background in Dark Mode.

3. "Custom titles" next to avatars seem to have been disabled on desktop but they still exist in mobile, and in Dark Mode they are dark text on bright white background - need to have a dark background in Dark Mode.
 
I have spent hours today playing about with the dark mode.

It isn't quite as simple to amend things as you would think, whilst trying to avoid certain colours.

I am happy with the outcome at present.

Also made a few changes to the light mode, which hopefully also helps with the readability and look.
 
I'm not being critical but there has not been message numbers and the time of the posts in dark mode hope this highlights if anything is wrong and is of help

Appreciate the effort, but quotes are now black text on a bright white background, and this reply is being typed to you now in white text on a light blue background.

For a "Dark Mode", this is not usable. The whole point of a dark mode is to avoid the clash of bright white (or light blue, etc.) areas against the darker theme - the clash is just painful to the eyes for users who are accustomed to using a dark theme for general web browsing.

Additionally, the 3 issues I mentioned in post #9 are still there.

I understand it's not easy, but the scheme was much better before these latest changes IMO.

Noted.

Fwiw I have had messages from a couple of other users who have requested different schemes.

We will find a compromise.
 
What's happened to the user title (disappeared), patron and staff member title sizes. There wasn't anything wrong with how it looked, seems there's been unnecessary changes for the worse.
