David Amoo Released / Joins Tranmere (Confirmed)
David Amoo a fine example of A.I.M.I.T.A.
His attitude is shite.
Is that true Bobbage? I honestly don't know about his attitude but he certainly had no ability.

One thing that sticks in my mind was when he started away at Oldham he couldn't be bothered closing down or taking anyone on at all in the first half. You would have thought he'd have been busting a gut to win that shirt back from Jeff but he really did not seem the slightest bit interested. At half time he'd obviously been told to work harder, and he just jogged around vaguely near the ball and was immediately hauled off. He's got talent or he would never have been at Liverpool in the first place, in my opinion he's struggling to adapt to having been released by them.

Another Mellor then? ;-)

Maybe but I think any player would have struggled going from Liverpool a team that is keen to pass the ball and play with flare, to the stuff GW had expected you to do. May take him time to realise that football is played differently in different leagues, but the basics of commitment, quality and skill need to be still shown. Otherwise he will disappear like so many other premiership trainees .

I could only think that Liverpool had signed him when he was younger and seemed a lot faster than everyone else and planned to work on nurturing the talent into him, but failed and so released him.
I never saw any sign of talent or a footballing brain, he didn't even seem that fast. Some of the runs he made to close down his own man were bizarre. He's currently on the pro footballer merri-go-round, but I don't think it will be long until he Whaleys off it.
I'd bet there are many players at none league who are far better than Amoo, but never got spotted by the likes of Liverpool when they were younger. It's so often a case of being in the right place at the right time.

Liverpool take on loads of players on the basis of single games at youth levels. I know a guy from Fulwood, used to swim against him (and beat him regularly) and he was nothing special as a footballer either. However, he had a good game whilst Liverpool scouts were there and got signed up. He now plays for Lincoln City having found his level in the Conference via Forest Green and Weymouth, and his attitude is "i'm a pro footballer, look at me" when in reality he isn't anything special.

I agree that his lack of desire was on show for all to see at Oldham (as with Mayor) and Amoo seemed to spend half the time arguing with Jack king.

I've played against him, and thought he was a fairly average (better than me obviously) player. 4 days later I was in the local bowling club and a Liverpool reserve game was on the box. The said player was playing for them, very one footed and not particular quick.
I have played with and against far better players than him.
Not many games under his belt and not many goals either.
