Yes I know, he is proven at a higher level.
So was Phil Brown and Craig Brown.

Typical idiot response to a perfectly valid post.
Davies is a proven success at a HIGHER level.
idiot.
So going off that logic we should only appoint a manager who has a record of success at League 1?
Phil Brown has achieved more at a higher level than Davies, winning promotion from the Championship and keeping a team in the Premier League. What was your point again?
Davies returning wouldn't be a disaster I'm sure but if the next 2 games go okay then on the basis of MK Dons and Carlisle I'd be happy to see Unsworth given the job until the end of the season then take things from there. In many ways I think we're better off without the return of an ego like Davies.

Four out of four then, twice with us, once with Forest and once with Derby.
That still doesn't detract from you being a blind faith idiot.
He is proven at a higher level at three clubs, all Alexander has going for him is the hero worship of a few blind faithers. You don't want him because you're all upset that he turned his back on us, how mongish is that?
Not really. Apart from 2 good seasons at Hull, Phil Brown has had a poor record every other time he's been in charge. Craig Brown hadn't managed at club level for a very long time. Proven international record, but not club when we appointed him.
Apart from his brief spell in the Premier League with Derby, when they overachieved and weren't ready to play there, he has brought winning football. He's a very good manager.
Billy Davies managed the best side we have had in decades, I reckon anybody who wouldn't have him back because they're still sulking about him leaving last time is a twat.
What? He only managed for seven months before becoming Hull manager.
Billy Davis? Never heard of him.
As for Billy Davies, the former North End deserter, and bore draw specialist, who inherited a fine squad at Deepdale, I am amazed at the level of love some people have for this man.
I remember attending matches under Davies, and I spent most of the match chatting to my pal than watching, clapping, or cheering any action.
If you want boring, attritional, low scoring affairs, then Billy Davies is your man. Good luck. I'm not paying to support that deserter.

Paolo, I used to bump into you all the time in the Davies-era and you were full of happiness and delight at wins and good solid performances from PNE, so what has changed your opinion since then?
In my eyes Davies gave us the a combination of grit, determination, will to win and above all else confidence - things we have lacked since. I also remember the games were not bore-draws apart from a bad spell at home at the start of 05/06 until we thrashed Hull 3-0 in November that year. There were plenty of great games over the two years. Away from home, we actually held our own and had a decent chance of winning games. Yes, we drew too many, but I'd take away draws over embarrasing defeats which we have had in the last 3 seasons any day!

Draw specialist? 4th best win percentage of all our managers since 1950, 2nd best points per game average for the same period. It's called getting results which Billy Davies for the majority of his managerial career has done.
