Nice one Joan……Just won the football card on the coach £20 . I hope the rest of the day continues in a winning theme.
The Gentry Dedications & Tributes
Won it twice now Ando!Nice one Joan……
Similar story to me LiS…..My Dad died 5 years ago, I've never included him in the Gentry tributes because he wasn't a North End fan but after 60 odd years I think I've made up for both of us.
My Dad was never really a North Ender , he used to play football on Saturday and then when he got too old for football, he started playing golf.
I had to plough my own furrow to Deepdale which began as a 7 year old nipping down for the last 20 minutes when the gates opened….

Mick was a top,top bloke and North end through and through. Never forget how the entire squad, Simon. Grayson and Peter Ridsdale all turned up for his funeral. Class show of respect by the club to one of their own.Mick(wack)Murphy.
Captain of my pool team and good buddy
Bumped into him at pre Christmas meet at St Catherine’s hospice where he was taking part in Santa dash(wheel chair)
Chatted again when we met up in the hospice when I was a driver for day therapy and he had a right go at me for taking a picture of us when we won a trophy for pool when we had a (guess the person in the picture comp)
He said he won the dash and Ladbrokes were giving 100/1 on him winning it.
His last words to me was “see you after Christmas”
We never met up.
RIP mate.

Would support Welsh Union from the pub, but he considered Lancashire a lost land, a footie town.

Is that Harry Bamford ex Deepdale Day Centre by any chance? lived bottom London Road/ walton le dale. Worked with Harry for a few years. Sad to hear.I would like to add my Dad not because he was a PNE fan but because of his love of Preston as a City that was instilled in me too. I would also like to remember my friends Harry Bamford who died a few months ago. Ilene, the most beautiful funny lady who had coach 1 named after her. My friend Jenny who died a few years ago but is always remembered and of course the wonderful Stuart Bolton and Shaky and Dirk (I cant remember his username properly but he was the one with the avatar😉) God bless them all.
Yes I worked with Harry for a few years, we became good friends and went to a lot of matches together home and away with work.Is that Harry Bamford ex Deepdale Day Centre by any chance? lived bottom London Road/ walton le dale. Worked with Harry for a few years. Sad to hear.

Bowler hats will be raised in his memory on Gentry Day 💙🤍
My Dad,Geoff Thurman and his best mate Dominic McCormack were original Ambassadors. My Dad,a PNE supporter for over 60yrs and Dominic for the best part of 50yrs. They passed away within 3 weeks of one another, last November/December and I can think of no more deserving names to be remembered at Gentry Day 2026. 💙🤍
