He was a well known poster and I’m sure a lot who post on here will have some stories to tell.
I never met him in person but your Dad seemed to be a decent bloke and he’ll be missed by a lot of PNE fans.

Yes I remember him. He seemed like a good bloke. I seem to remember he liked, or had a good knowledge of punk music.
As others have mentioned, his avatar was a particular highlight.

Curry power.
Bouncing boobs as his profile picture that used to flag me up as being on the forum to people at work as they walked behind me.
Was he not also into his poetry writing?

Would we get away with bouncing tit avatars these days? I might try it one day, I would be out on the doorstep by the following morning mindyou.
Certainly does, his Avatar could never be forgotten, neither his curry power, good poster sadly missed. 👍

Aye, played poker online with him once or twice!
He authored a pretty classic thread on shaving

Tut tut, you go on the forum when you’re supposed to be working?Bouncing boobs as his profile picture that used to flag me up as being on the forum to people at work as they walked behind me.

Your dad was one of the great characters of this forum and even now it is not the same without him. Though I never met him I was deeply shocked and dismayed when the news of his passing was posted here. I still remember the photo of the priest/vicar at his funeral wearing a PNE scarf. I hope that the grief you and your family would have felt at the time is now transmuted into joy at the memories you will have of him and that you are continuing as a supporter of PNE.

Dirk is a legend.
Talking to him on FB (almost daily) every morning he would have his coffee and I told him I only drink tea and we chatted. His usual chat was about his children and his all consuming love for them. He was very proud of them That’s my most abiding memory of him, in what a great dad he was hence my comments above. I have his daughter as my friend on FB she is a lovely person too and she misses her dad immensely. what a lovely family.
