Drinking in the stands

Drinking in the stands

But how does that benefit the club, they’d be missing out on the price of a ticket and a couple of pint’s in lost revenue.
Yes, but I don't think the PM was concerned about increased club revenue.
It was more about fan enjoyment and for me, it wouldn't add to it.

Safe standing and drinking before and during the game, even if your sat and not standing and you've just got back from the bar with a full pint or two and North End score, how would you celebrate.
What would you do with the empty pint pots, obviously they would be plastic. Would they expect North End to provide bins in the stands as well as on the concourse, concourse yes stands no because of health and safety.
Take your empties back please when you go for a refill, but the floor is closer or i might wanna legit for fun 😂 Picture the scene, a full Bill Shankley Kop, full of either Lashers, Dingles or Dogshiters both sets of fans drinking all day and on the ground, whose gonna take some of them home and clean up after them and finally if the result isn't going right for them, hey let's hit the bar, its still serving

I'd enjoy taking in a hip flask during the winter games if the rules were relaxed for a cheeky HT nip.
You could probably do that anyway. Maybe not a hip flask as such, but I always used to take a Diet Coke in with me and could easily put other stuff in it. Me and me dad used to take a flask of coffee in with brandy in it for a while as well.

Right, but you then go on to act as if you’d have no option but to spend a further £18? You could just not buy drinks even if they allowed it still.
Eh? I stated quite clearly that I had no desire, not no option.
I then gave two reasons why I wouldn't take up the 'option' that you claim I'm acting not to have?

How many of you big girl’s blouses who are oppressed to this on the grounds that people would be launching pints everywhere watch football in pubs where you claim people launch pints everywhere?

It’s absolute nonsense.

Nobody launches tea, coffee, bovril and soft drinks everywhere under the current rules.

And that would be much worse

Fair enough. Came across like you were advocating against the law change purely because it didn’t suit you personally. I thought that was a fairly selfish viewpoint, apologies if I misunderstood.

I've been to Dortmund and it works over there as I feel like the German mentality is to have more respect for other people.

Sadly here, we have a small minority of fucking bell ends that would happily soak someone in cold shite lager and ruin their day completely just because they're pissed and we've scored a rare goal.

Leave it as it is.

A couple of old guys near us always bring in a small bottle of whiskey they put in there coffee at half time.

That's because those people generally aren't wankered.

The main reason I don't have an appetite for this is because the beer sold at Deepdale is overpriced piss.

If you can't get enough quality ale down your neck in Preston's many fine hostelries pre-match, then there's something wrong with you.

Plenty will be hammered from drinking before the game. Like I said earlier, if drinking in the stands was allowed, it’d be a pint a half.

Pathetic how so many are “hammered” before a 3pm kick off really, although it’s probably not so much the drink these days….

I had a steady half a gallon before the game on Friday night, just the one during it, one in the clubhouse afterwards and a bowl of homemade cassoulet and a large glass of red at ten to midnight when I got in.

Pleasant evening apart from the bloody score.
