American striker Eddie Johnson is heading to League Championship side Preston North End on the loan move for the rest of the season, sources told SBI on Monday.

Johnson has earned more playing time this season at Fulham than last season, but the loan to Preston should help him earn considerably more playing time as he heads toward the summer, when his contract will expire.

Johnson's agent, Richard Motzkin, could not be reached for comment on the move.

The loan is the latest in a series of loans Johnson has gone on while under contract with Fulham. He enjoyed moderate success during loan stints with Cardiff City and Aris FC.

What do you think of this move? Glad to see Johnson going where he will play more? Can you see him returning to MLS this summer?

where has this come from?

I hope so. Him and Ellington/Clarke could be a real handful. Plus it allows us to use Hume as an advanced right midfielder.

he has played 48 games in English football and scored 2 goals.

18 apps for Fulham
30 apps for Cardiff

he was in their team I think when we beat them to the play offs (inc 6-0, he was on't bench)

Was that not Xanthi?

This, to me, smell like an agent fishing for someone to come along and loan him. They probably plucked out our name from random so that it was widely known he was available and 'out of contract in the Summer'

Thanks whoever fixed the link! Damn iPhone. can't get near the laptops in this house tonight!

Would be a good signing, really quick. Apparently a confidence player as well, so If Brown can do his magic, I'll be happy with this!
