What's with the deal with editing posts now. Seems you can't modify them after a certain age?

I wasn't aware of that. I know it can be set so that users can't edit their post after a pre-determined amount of time but to my knowledge, this has never been set. I will check it out. 🙂

Any of the mods got any news on this.
As I'm sure you will appreciate, moderator accounts work differently. With my test account, I have now established that there is now a time restriction on users editing their own posts.

To be honest, I wasn't aware of it until you posted this thread. For me, the edit button always shows so hadn't noticed. I will try and find out more info for you.

I agree. I need to change all my posts that say "we've no chance of making the play-offs" to "we'll make the play-offs on the last day of the season because Cardiff will fuck up royally".

I've lost the link for posting youtube vids on here as my computer caught a virus last week. I've gone to a post of mine and am not able to get the link as I can't go into editing. As far as I'm aware you have up to 24 hours to edit a thread, why anybody would want to to do this after this time, I don't know.
It would also mess up the flow of a thread!

Why has this changed? Was there a plague of editing after a day people, crazily beavering away editing their own posts after a weekend bender.
I can't imagine anyone would ever do this, or anyone would care they've done this.
Why do I want it? So I can add to the football forum thread I USED to keep up to date. It's now impossible without creating a new thread each time😡
It is not something that has been changed. It was part of the most recent forum upgrade.
I have given you a reason above as to why it wont (if it can anyway) be changed back.
I realise this might be a pain with your thread, however we have to think about the forum as a whole.:youl:

It's a setting that the admin has put in place, it's not the forum itself that's doing it. What affect does it have on the forum as a whole?
Look, I'm trying to give you a answer to your questions, let you still wont let it drop.
It is not something that the admins have put in place, it was something that was in the upgrade, and we have not change it back.
You seem to be the only person who is bothered about it, so unless there is over all feeling on the forum as a whole why would we change it?

Can we have a poll then? The general opinion I've received is people would like me to edit one post and not make 100 separate threads with my changes.

We can not be having poll's on every single thing to do with the forum, this would be silly.
However we do have the beta section for such forum decisions, patrons can have a say, and air there views there.

There was no intentional setting of this. During the last forum upgrade, the editing options reverted to default status. No decision has been made as to whether it will remain as it is. I will of course relay your feedback and concerns. 🙂
