Top Six talk yet again.
They keep spinning this line but when it goes Pete Tong hiding behind budgets.
Big talk, now let's see the action. I won't hold my breath...again.

Just a detailed defence of Peter Ridsdale that ignores all of his faults and focuses on the few things he’s done well recently.
Pretty standard stuff, not even worth the time it took to read.

I don’t know why they continue the Top 6 stuff. Nobody believes them at this point and it ends up just generating negativity towards them when inevitably they don’t back it up with the required investmentTop Six talk yet again.

I like the part when he calls out people for social media abuse of everyone associated with the club including him and his family.
As he points out, some of the abusers never put a penny into the PNE coffers and openly boast about not buying a ST.
Having opinions is one thing, but dishing out abuse at a personal level is not acceptable….

Interesting.
Better (imo) than last seasons speech but the section about "those who moan / abuse whilst not putting a penny into the club" is obviously aimed, imo, at 1 or 2 high profile posters on here. Not saying I agree with CH, just how I read that section.
Anyway, as usual, the proof of progress will be in the pudding.

I was about to post the same with this extraxt from the article.I like the part when he calls out people for social media abuse of everyone associated with the club including him and his family.

In many cases these so-called fans don’t contribute one single penny to the club. They openly boast about never purchasing a season card or attending games. These people are not PNE fans. Their sole aim is to cause discord and create hatred. I respectfully ask that real PNE fans call out this abuse and ignorance whenever and wherever they come across it.

"I am told we suffered the most incorrect key refereeing decisions in the division – again" - not being inflammatory, who told the club this? Genuine question.
First part read like PH had ghosted it, moaning again about ref decisions.
Then the rest had Riddler rhetoric all over it moaning about parachute payments. What about all the clubs who don't have them who do actually finish in the play offs like Bristol City this season.
Most striking thing for me given he actually managed one game this season was no mention at all about Lowe leaving and the circumstances behind that considering 12 months back Hemmings Jr was criticising the end of season run and basically putting Lowe on probation notice.
I take that statement as insurance policy when Osmajic is sold in two months time.

That was a valid point imo. We lost a lot of points to poor refereeing decisions. The affect of parachute payments was also valid, every season the 3 relegated teams are handed a massive financial advantage, and others continue to receive finances from the PL which are higher than our entire budget.First part read like PH had ghosted it, moaning again about ref decisions.

Mixed bag
I appreciated the recognition that the club needs to sort out it's player trading and infrastructure. However, we need more action on this part. I appreciated that the statement claims it is willing to entertain new ideas too.
There's the usual question marks over income and top six ambitions despite what the statement claims.
I found this remark baffling:
"We know we are not perfect, and we don’t get every player signing right, but our success ratio in this regard is far higher than rival clubs."
How do they measure that then? We narrowly avoided relegation and we haven't made any significant income from player trading in a long time.
I found this section confusing:
"Where possible our aim is to contract our own players, and these will be a combination of players with good Championship experience, to add stability and toughness to the squad and with some younger players, that we believe will develop into players with long term value. Either side of this we will look to strengthen with quality loan players. We are proud of our track record of discovering loan players that go on to achieve tremendous success with us and subsequently elsewhere."
So we want young, experienced, permanent and loanee players. That's not really a strategy is it? I get what they mean, it's just that it isn't really a philosophy as such, it's wanting all types of player. Again this would undermine the previous point about our transfer successes.
I do appreciate the tone of this address too, it's a little more conciliatory than we usually get. Hopefully it eases a bit of the tension, although I wish Peter Ridsdale would adopt such a tone himself.
Not a bad statement, not a groundbreaking one either.

Is CH PR, or is PR CH?
Very informative and honest. Great review.
Good statement. Appreciate most of it. The referees decisions bit was unnecessary.
Positive about the future and that sponsor deal especially. Things are on the up, even slightly. The turnover increase is a positive and proves I wasn't going mad when I said to my wife "see a lot more PNE shirts nowadays"

The dead giveaway of the Ridsdale rhetoric is where he is basically asking questions to himself, then answering them!First part read like PH had ghosted it, moaning again about ref decisions.

He has done this many times in previous interviews on Radio Lancs
