No both Lowe and Ridsdale need to go. We will get nowhere with Ridsdale. Where do you think the attitude of “we are over achieving” comes from.
I recall in the early months of Alex Neil appointment during a fans forum Ridsdale telling the fans we absolutely have to get to the premier league. One fan stood up and said surely we had to be realistic, Ridsdale responded with no, we absolutely have to get there to survive as a club! Now he spouts historically we don’t deserve where we are! What changed so much? We absolutely don’t deserve to be dragged down by him and his 2nd rate managers that’s for bloody sure.
Yep, when apropos-of-nothing Lowe slips into an interview
stuff like "I think if we were to win one, draw one and lose one for the remainder of the season, we'd be two points better off than we were last season", it's obvious he hasn't sat down and worked it out for himself - these are stats spun up by people at the club with nothing better to do, including Ridsdale once he's replied to all the fans individually by text.
What changed re the Prem was Ingol - in 2016, the owner's priority was getting planning permission for Ingol so he could build houses on it. The pretext for that was the "state of the art training facility for both the first team and the Academy", which (
we were told) was
needed before the club could deliver Prem football. All the club's focus then was
Prem, Prem, Prem, with (as you say) Ridsdale even linking the Prem to the club's survival, anything to convince the planners to grant permission. Once housebuilding was safely under way, the training ground was scrapped.
Fast forward to the 2022 fans meeting (fans forums had by now been scrapped as well), and Craig told us that things had inexplicably reversed - perversely, we now had to get to the Prem
first, before we could afford to build all the things we need to get to the Prem, such as that training ground. And Craig's new plan for getting to the Prem was a programme of careful frugal IoM budgeting with Ridsdale in sole charge of all football operations.
Getting to the Prem is now such a distant nice-to-have dream, that it could even threaten the club's survival if we tried too hard to achieve it (so we are repeatedly told).
Revitt and the Hemmings value Ridsdale because he'll shamelessly spin this shit for them while they stay very much in the shadows. There's no Prem coming our way while any of these people are involved IMO.
