Fitness Levels

Pol stood out for me yesterday.
After the occasional trot down the right he’d take an age to get back into position.
At one point he was sort of 1 on 1 with cooper I think and rather than try and beat him he played a terrible pass inside, straight to them and they broke from it.
He looked absolutely knackered and he’d only come on at half time.
Seems like he’s afraid of really sprinting as well probably because his hamstrings are ready to pop.

His body language is awful, always looks like his dog has just died.

He was right in front of me in the second half and I’ve rarely seen anyone’s body language so bad.
If we are going to stick with a back 5 it has to be Offiah at RWB with what we have left.
Far from ideal but where are the other options now?

Liam Gibbs can play there.

Fuck all to dowith fitness, it's mental.

Weak players
A lot is down to the fitness of the players. We have conceded 12 goals (15 if you include Everton) in the second half of matches. Everyone can see that the players start flagging around 60 minutes. I agree that some of the players are weak but the priority is to get them fit enough to compete for the full 90 mins which will take time.

For me both are intertwined, a fit player who can last 90 minutes are still able to use there brain properly during the later stages. If you are knackered after 60 mins then your decision making isn’t the same and mistakes happen. Whether that’s taking 30 seconds longer to react and the striker is gone or just not reacting at all and the weaker players go into there shells.
Look at Lindsay when he has a bad game it seems to be he makes mistake, after mistake and can’t seem to recover where as a mentally strong player holds there hand up says sorry lads that is on me then goes on to make sure they don’t do it again and try and make up for it

Looks as if a sickness bug was going around during the week not an excuse I know but suspect the vast majority of the home support got the shits after that performance

Please excuse use of poor profanity I’m not usually potty mouth only occasionally on days that end in Y after a defeat

Good time to remind everyone that we chose Gibbs because we wouldn’t give Browne the contract security he wanted

Great call once again North End
You would think as a the current owners are looking to sell and have a buyer seemingly going through the process they would have just done the 3 years as they would be long gone by then and not need to worry about that anyway

Not sure whether it's lack of fitness or not if so GA will make sure that fittnrss is sorted but it will take time...for me watching us it's more mentality...we have gone from a team that even if we conceded we would still get back into a game to a team that crumbles not only when we concede but when the opposition stepps up it's attack especially in second half You can see there is little confidence and belief as a team...it doesn't help when your strikers can't score & the defenders can't defend...We as a club have serious problems
the lack of confidence in the management & team has been there for years...we have listened to terrible post match interviews & assessments...and the negativity whilst justified is part of the problem around the club
Most fans on here have us relegated already..!!
We needed a complete cultural mentally change at the club, from top to bottom.
Is Graham Alexander the man to do it we shall see, but it's certain the toxic negativity around the club will continue until the fans see a change on the pitch but wether we like it or not GA won't be given the time to change what is needed if his results don't change.
