francois zoko: class act
I'd love it if we signed this lad. He tormented our defense all game, pacey, good control/passing and can finish. I actually clapped him off.
Swap deal for barton?
Agreed, he ripped us to pieces and I'm glad he went off!
Unusual but well deserved applause from the home supporters when he was subbed, and I think we all collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
Only started 5 games this season. Very indifferent normally, best game by far this season (apparently).
Sounds more like it. Put the Kleenex away lads.
Swap for Barton
?
Yes please
But it would be like swapping a subutteo stadium edition for a kerplunk with no straws and the balls missing, great if you could but not a good deal for someone

In touch with a CUFC fan who says on form he is the best in the league but goes missing in games too often. Yesterday was his best game. For us he reckoned the 'little fatty' up front was good and took his goal well. He also said that the tall lanky striker up front in the first half caused them all sorts of problems and that the Carlisle fans were worried about him. Surely he can't mean Barton?!!
Interesting comment about Hume as I thought he had put a bit of weight on.

He had decent game but the early booking of Gray meant that he was given a little more space than he should have got down the left.
He took his goal well but against a decent championship defender he wouldn't have been allowed to gain so much space from a slight turn.
He grew in confidence like his team who were good value at least for a point.
I would like another striker at the club but if fit mellor Hume proctor and tsoumou are good enough if we are playing two up. This lad is not a player that on yesterday's game alone is anything but an average player.

Looked ok but he's 28 and is not a regular for Carlisle,i wouldnt want to sign a player on the evidence of 1 game,Billy Paynter once had a worldy against us.
Strongly linked with Middlesboro so out of our league I'm afraid. God knows how he wound up at Carlisle in the first place.
They seem to get quite good players, then sell them on. e.g Danny Graham.

I was told about Zoko at the start of last season, I told my mate I was on the game with before we kicked off about Zoko and he proved me right. If we managed to sign this lad by some kind of miracle it would be a huge signing, Him and Hume would be a pairing that would destroy league 1 and possibly the championship.

Got himself up for it seeing as though it was their cup final.
Could have Zibaka and Zoko up front zzzzzzzzz...the boy Zoko did play well, but could have been a one off lot of Carlisle fans say he is usually crap
Looked at class player on yesterdays performance. Best player on the pitch. But he clearly doesn't play like that every week, or he would have been long gone from Carlisle.
Trouble we had yesterday was that it was a local derby for their fans and players, but not for ours. Because of that they gave an extra 10-15%. I know it shouldn't happen, and your players should always give their all, but how many other games are there in the football calendar where it's a 'local' derby for one team but not the other??

Most of this season and towards the end of last season, he has been/was off his game. The trouble is, not many of us are that sure what his game is. He can be good but I note that his game slipped at the same time there was a stand-off between incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo and the elected president in the Ivory Coast and the civil unrest surrounding it. I haven't heard this theory being expounded by anyone else though and so I could be wrong.
In conclusion, Zoko isn't bad but he has been good as a 'super-sub' in a couple of the most recent games scoring a last-minute equalizer against Wycombe and a winner against Scunthorpe. His goal yesterday was the best of the game by far.

Funny you sat that, after speaking to my Carlisle mates at the end of the game, they both agreed Barton was a handful and looks a good prospect?!

Be interesting to watch his form then as the ICC proceedings begin. Is he a Gbagbo or Ouattara sympathiser?
