GENTRY DAY

The away match at Barnsley on Saturday 30th April 2022 has been voted as the date for this years annual Gentry Day.

Whilst our supporters are enjoying themselves on the day it is right to remember what Gentry Day is all about, which is remembering members of the North End & Preston community who are no longer with us.

We are bitterly disappointed that South Yorkshire Police refused to police this match unless it was a 12:30pm Kick Off.

The football club have put on subsidised coaches to help as many of our fans to attend as possible.

We are sure that we won't allow SYP to curtail our unique tradition and it will be celebrated fully.

Once again PNE-Online are proud to support Gentry Day and as ever we have this dedicated thread for users to post the names, memories or stories of people you would wish to be remembered by the Preston North End supporters on Gentry Day at Oakwell.

Feel free to post as much or little detail as you like and everyone who will be donning their bowlers will do so in their memory.

My Mum, Joyce Allen, who sadly passed away in March. Born and lived on Deepdale Rd until she married! Knew Sir Tom and many other players from back in the day and whilst she'd not been on for many a year always kept fully up to date on how we were doing, even so far as asking how they went on whilst in her hospital bed the weekend before she slipped away!

It will be 10 Years this July since Graham was suddenly taken from us. Graham David Irving (aka GDI442) was only 26 when he was suddenly and unexpectedly taken with Cancer Unknown Primary. Graham was PNE through and through. 10 years PNE has been without one of their most avid supporters 25.9.85 - 25.07.12 AND Thank you to everyone that continues to support our important fundraising events in Graham's precious memory. I'm sure Graham attends every game with a pass from Heaven.

One of my best mates, Anthony Moss sadly passed last summer. He loved PNE, was always very vocal on the stands wore his heart on his sleeve. Fond of the away days craic especially, we had some good laughs. I think about him every day and it breaks my heart that he went so young. Left a wife and 3 kids behind. I hope his soul is at peace.
