Barnsley there are trains but beer out of town. Derby faff on trains. Barnsley for me.

Given the reduced allocation at Derby and lack of public transport reluctantly gone for Barnsley.

Not the most welcoming place but given we've missed out on Gentry Day for 2 years it will give more fans the ability to celebrate.

Voted for Barnsley, simply because of the bigger allocation and think it's best as many people are given the chance to attend as possible.

With Derby there's at least guaranteed to be something at stake on the pitch. Whereas Barnsley could already be relegated by that final game.

Last game of the season + Barnsley maybe getting relegated + bunch of pissed up bowler hats = strong risk of trouble about it. There might be no willing pubs in Barnsley, but just means plenty of cans will be supped and fans with no where to go.

The club should have mentioned on the voting page that there are no trains available for Derby.

Not much excitement with either but that sort of doesn’t pay too much respect to the core of gentry day
Home game 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

For the timing I’d say Derby - still something to play for.
For the capacity it would have to be Barnsley - +4K as opposed to to max 2.2K at Derby.

Would we ever do a home Gentry Day as well as an away one?
I’m sure lots of fans unable to get to away matches would like that idea plus the Club could expect a near full house

Thanks for the reply
You clearly get my thoughts, is it not after the last horrendous two years about inclusion and doing something a bit different

Absolutely agree, there are thousands of fans who don’t regularly go to away games and many of those would appreciate the chance to remember at a home match.

Picked Derby initially but didn't know there was a train issue, nor did I realise it was so soon.

Barnsley is a bit of a shit option but it's too late in the season now.

Been to both - and unbeaten for what it's worth (1-4 Cup, 1-1 recently, Garner). Got my car banged about by disgruntled home fans after the Cup match, Barnsley was the one and only club coach I've been on - and into that Leisure Centre? Derby would be a more interesting town to visit before - but the lack of trains would put a dampener on the day, so on that basis gone Barnsley (with no great enthusiasm). We remember departed loved ones on the big screen (the last home match?), why not extend that into a home Gentry Day?

For selfish reason I have voted Barnsley (at a wedding for the Derby game).

A few other issues with Derby, trains, allocation and there isn’t much time to plan.

Barnsley, decent allocation, plenty of time to plan plus hopefully it will be decent weather. No pubs and lack of hospitality from the locals is an issue though. Other arrangements I guess from drinking out of town or getting on the ground early.

Yes
I’m throwing out there and really hoping it doesn’t derail @JK if so please delete
Should there be a home game option in the poll

The poll is being conducted by the club, ours is just for an indication of how the forum feels.

I have no chance of going to Derby- but do have a pretty good chance of going to Barnsley- so an easy pick for me!
