I don't know how you came to be the voice of BBC Lancs at away games but I do recognise your right to speak as an almost obsessive fan of the club. However

If anyone records your offerings you seriously need to listen to yourself. Your pre match 'comments' were so bitter in respect of Westley it was embarrassing to listen to, and I suggest you learn to be a bit (a lot actually) more objective about the club or ask John Roper to stand in for you.

Even after the win you had to point out it was 'players he inherited' who got the points and not his signings.

Well here is a fact for you... it was the players he inherited who got us in this shit long before he arrived!

You actually sounded like one of those who is disappointed when the team does OK because it relieves pressure on the manager. Either give the bloke his chance or do us all a favour and stick to your fans team.

Surf was a about 20 yards to the left of me in the stands with the Radio Lancs bloke. Looked across at him on both PNE goals, didn't seem chuffed to me. For a bloke who bleeds North End why is he so anti Westley? I obviously after today realise that he cannot get over Alexander and Unsworth not being managers. Sad.

I didn't hear his pre-match comments but I am amazed that RL have someone whose views are clearly unbalanced in a co-commentary role. He is absolutely entitled to his opinion but as a 'fans' representative' on the commentary team, his views should surely be more balanced and devoid of 'personal agenda'.

To be fair, I think it goes back a bit further than that ;-)

It's a fair point - Westley has signed an incredible amount of players considering the short amount of time he's been here. Shame they're all incredibly useless. I see we seem to have the new blindfaith position established now - anyone who has any doubts about Westley as PNE manager wants us to lose every game and is a shit fan for pointing out anything that shows up the blindfaithers' new hero in a disappointing light.

Today's win may have eased a lot of the pressure on us at the bottom of the table but it doesn't change the fact that Westley still has the worst win ratio of any PNE manager in our history and has offered nothing positive so far. If Hume and eventually Mellor join Stuckmann in keeping us safe, it doesn't make the job Westley has done so far any less dire, shambolic or pitiful.

Ffs give the Guy a break, pne win today so westley gets a day off, oh who can we slag off now, surf. Some people have nothing better to do on this forum

You mention that Westley has the worst win ratio of any PNE manager in our history. Exactly how many games have we played under his stewardship? Do you think that his win ratio will increase? Do you think that he will ever equal or indeed surpass the win ratio of your favourite manager?

Good post, and exactly the way I saw it.

I have always enjoyed listening to Steve's comments in the past, but he clearly is in the anti Westley camp.

OK, he brought 9 players in, but they aren't his main signings. They will be made in the summer. The loan signings and the likes of Brown and Hunt are only short term fixes.

Over the past few years there have been too many players in their comfort zones and not prepared to put in the extra yard and they have been in need of a big shake up. Maybe Steve was comfortable in and around those people and finds himself a little bit neglected by the current regime.

My message to Steve, would be to keep the faith, stay positive because Westley will get it right. As I said above, I have always respected Steve's views but today he was a bit cringeworthy.

Surf came across extremely anti-Westley today, as he has every time I've heard him in the new era.

But then again so do most of the presenters, Bayes & Cunliffe in particular, as well as guest pundits Smart & Eyres. Think they're having a good laugh at us to be honest.

I do admit we've had little to get excited about since our Graham's arrival, but now safety is more or less assured, we need to forget we were good 60 years ago and get in the present and hope for improvement in the short term and an assault at promotion next year with the "stellar signings" GW has promised.

Without hope we have jack-shit!

Thought you would be on before long! I don't see what your comments have to do with my O.P. And as for me being a blind faither...........

The issue my simple friend is a person who is regarded as a die-hard pne fan using his debatable position on radio lancs to demonstrate how far he has thrown his toys from the pram since Westley came in.

It's a shame if Surf came across this way. I didn't listen as I was away. I'm sure know having met Steve that he cares alot about PNE and has a valid opinion. If he waxed lyrical about PNE when we are shite that's false.

he was anti-Westley from the start - he was questioning Bailey-Wright being left-back but right-footed - turned out to have a good game - did Billy Jones not do that last season

"So, Steve, are there any good points to be taken from Graham Westley's reign so far."

"Absolutely none."

He's probably right, but it just sounded harsh.
