North End wanted to offer him a similar deal to Ched but he hasn’t got his badges! Shame to see a class act like Greg leave!!
He has.
Graham Westley needed a Dino Maamria around. Same vibes.
£4Million is not PeanutsQuality player who we sold for peanuts and despite injuries made a valuable contribution when he returned.
Top fella too.
Goodbye Greg. A great servant and ambassador for the club. A leader of players, with footballing ability and intelligence. Sorry to see him go.
£4Million is not Peanuts
It was not even close to being £4 million.

As North End fans, we all want a player to give 100% every game because that’s what we’d do in their position. With Greg, that was never in doubt. A fantastic full-back, too.
Alex Neil said on the podcast with George Hodgson that it was £3.5m we got from Cardiff. It was not even close to being £4 million.
Never had a bad game for PNE and even though his appearances this season were limited, he just got up to the speed of the match whenever he was called upon and definitely didn’t weaken us. Worth another year I’d have thought. Thanks for all your efforts Greg, you’ll always be remembered fondly at Deepdale.
100% thisEcho a lot of what has been said on here never let us down when he pull on the shirt. I would have preferred him to have the player coach roll than Evans. All the best for the future.
Totally my sentiments too.
This is my take on the situation too. So long, for now Greg ........ Pretty sure he'll be back at Deepdale, in some official capacity for PNE, at some point in the future. Top, top pro, and a great bloke, to boot. Best of luck with your future Cunny!100% this
Totally my sentiments too.

He`s been planning a move back to Ireland for a while. All the best Greg.
Great Player, would of loved him to of got a Testimonial (Mind you, we never gave Hunts and won't be giving Browne one so probably wouldn't have got one). Was gutted when he first left. Glad he came back. Hope to see him in management one day. Thanks Greg and Good luck.

I believe Testimonials are a thing of the past, going back to the old days when players were in more need of money at the end of their career. I also believe that it is expected that, if you do get a Testimonial, you donate a substantial amount to charity.
Anyone know which was the last PNE player to get one?
