Half Time team Talk

Half Time team Talk

Seriously its very obvious the team were told, "What we have we hold."

Its utterly depressing, new manager started well and now we are back to the utter garbage we got served up from Lowe and, i have to say it, those who preceeded him.

We are no longer a championship side and are owners are residing over this decline.

Lowe got slated for no patterns of play to note. We have very quickly become the same despite a relatively positive start. I did think we’d have seen some improvements albeit Hecky was dealt a shit hand.

Heckingbottoms key characteristic as a manager is not being Ryan Lowe. It’s got him through the honeymoon period.

You can talk about the quality of players all you like but they have shown that they can produce decent stuff every now and again.

Ok, he might not have the squad he wants but it’s his job to use what we have as well as possibly. Lowe didn’t do it and as it stands Heckingbottom isn’t doing it.

Lowe played some fairly nice stuff in his early months and then regressed to the dull shapeless mush. Heckingbottom is showing signs of going the same way. It’s very concerning.

Which begs the question. Why did Neil, hecky and Lowe start off playing a certain way and revert to type.

You could argue Hecky needs to do more with the squad. But we have a bunch of cloggers at centre back, no left wing back, three average midfielders, a shit keeper. We also have 8-10’players out of contract in the summer.

All the players I root for I.e. like are all loan players - KKH and greenwood. The rest are average at best. The defence has been a shambles since jan 2021.

I think because the results did not come. Because ultimately, as you say, the players are not good enough to play more adventurously in this league and still win enough points. They need the tactical timewasting, the set piece stoppages, and the aimless possession in defence, just to manage away the game time and catch a breath. Pressing is tiring.

Crazy as it now sounds, PH obviously thought a back 4 could be deployed with this squad, hence he signed Bowler.

But his back-4 experiments starring Lindsay and Hughes, while more entertaining to watch, led to some embarrassing spankings and dropped points during the honeymoon period, so now we're back to the safe 5-at-the-back and grim defensive outlook at home that is so familiar to us - and which PH actually deployed in his very first game, v Luton.

PH has his worst win % in his managerial career at PNE, I know from his time at Hibs he was roundly berated by the Easter Rd faithful for his "lets not lose" selections and blaming the players when it was a tough watch, yesterday with his 8 defensive players, Riis who is pitiful and Greenwood at home in a game we had to win, and after an international break kinda showed us his mentality, no press, nobody to pass to, creative players not starting etc etc etc, he IS the issue with what happens on the pitch, everything else crap about the club lies with IOM and Ridsdale.

His halftime talk must have been more Horlicks please chaps, oh and remember it's not my fault.
