Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

They can be interested but I'm not sure why he'd want to drop down to 18th in the table when he's got us sat in 4th

Think AN had regrets not going there but back then they were serious top 2 contenders.

Completely different now. I think they are serious contenders to get relegated this season if they don't get new manager bounce as Norwich are picking up and the others aren't that far off them.

Ownership is pretty rubbish so it is like Leicester. Negative atmosphere on matchdays that translates to the players. Parachute payments ran out now so they can't spend their way out of a crisis currently.

Well in the current climate, would WBA really be that much of a step up for Hecky? Yes, I understand their recent Prem history and all that, but they are having some financial issues themselves and I just don't see what the draw would be beyond perhaps them offering him a higher salary?

Just curious but don't really see him leaving tbh.

I think we show more passionate and fight most games, the relationship between manager, players and fans is good, (that's a very important factor for me) we have some promising young loaned and I think Heckingbottom, knows a decent player when he sees one. I'm happy with the guy, tends to say it like it is and doesn't spout crap.
Smith?

I prefer to think of him as an "Attacking Midfielder" who can't head - but always puts his shift in, doing a lot of not-very-noticed work with some reasonable passing....but won't shoot unless there's no better options, and can't shoot very much either.

Yep, a forward that needs more shooting practice. TBH we've a few of them, & as the table shows, we haven't a prolific attack. I'd love it if we tried actually scoring more from more shots - ( to write the flippin' obvious )

Just thought I get people’s opinions on this, for me it just seems like nothing has really changed, the team’s performances are mediocre at best, I can’t remember the last time I was blown away by the team’s performance.

I understand that Hecky and McCall have a bunch of mediocre players at their disposal and that’s hardly their fault, that’s due to our negligent DoF.

Discuss!
No.

Is that just because we lost one meaningless game?

Sure, I'd love to have knocked Lowe back to where he belongs and wipe that scouse grin off his face but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.

Such a shame 'the world's oldest and best cup competition' is held now in such disregard, even outside the Premier League, that clearly rubs off on some teams and players alike. At the end of the day it should've been treated like another game, and it wasn't just the fact we lost, but how we lost. That performance, cup or otherwise, was not acceptable.

The winners of the FA Cup, even non Premier league, should automatically qualify for the ridiculously named Champions league. Then we would see it being taken more seriously.

Remember 1964?

We went for promotion and the FA cp and blew both.

And we've never got to an FA Cup Final since, only managed a quarter final last season for the 1st time in over 50 years and yet we've never been promoted back to the top division. 🤔
The FA cup and league have only interfered with each other that one season in 1964, and given the choice I doubt many of us would have gone for the FA cup. However, there's little point in discussing this because the culture back then and prestige of the FA were totally different back then. The FA cup was the biggest prize by any measure but it's lost its relevance these days.

Really?

Ask Millwall 2004
Ask Portsmouth 2008
Ask Stoke 2011
Ask Wigan 2013
Ask Crystal Palace 2025
Ask Macclesfield yesterday.

By way of a few examples.
