Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

Please give this guy the tools to finish the job in January.

Tonight was heroic and there have been some really good performances now he has young players in final third who can actually run.

Was trying to think of the poorest performance of the season and thankfully there haven't been too many. Plastics result stung but they've been really good away and Sheff Weds first half was abysmal but still won that game in the end.

Probably then Portsmouth away which looks a poor result now with them not having won in ages. Good sign that was all the way back in August.

Ridsdale actually seems to have done a fair job so far this season, but the credit for how things have turned around on the pitch really rests with Heckingbottom and McCall. They masterminded the recruitment and have turned us into a very decent outfit with virtually no budget.
I would include both Euell and Liddle in your assessment.

The recruitment has been brilliant

The only signings I think people are on the fence about would be Thompson and Smith. Thompson we've not seen enough to properly judge and Smith is being asked to do more than I think anyone expected (and while limited I think he his strengths are worthwhile to the team)

And then players like Whiteman, Hughes and Storey have improved.

For me, the team is now showing a resilience not seen since Larry Grayson was manager. In addition, they’re also creating so many more scoring opportunities providing excitement for the fans. Fantastic gutsy performance tonight. Looking forward to more of the same at Oxford on Saturday.
One word-
Pace.
Something we've been desperately short of for ages.

Massive improvement under Hecky.

Ben Whiteman back to his best, a real Captains performance last night after a shaky first half.

Gibson, McCann and Milly out just think where we could have been with them in?

I thought SG was a great manager for us but this fella is taking us to the next level, we need to keep hold of him as the vultures will start to circle

Be like the players. Already had a 2 match ban and a 1 match ban for the same offence so they keep building on it until he learns to keep his gob shut
Gobbio shuttio, for our Welsh exiles, or anyone travelling to Wrexham. (Sounds like a useful chant to keep in the back pocket).

Be interesting to read the written reasons when published.

Back on the touchline at the same time as Milly returns to the team infront of a sold-out away end. Wrexham away already looks like a recipe for carnage

I don’t mind that he’s got a bit of a temper, tbh. Shows he cares.

Only concern is if having a go at the match officials is likely to be counter productive next time they officiate one of our games - people tend to remember if someone’s insulted/sworn at them and it’s human nature to have a grudge against that person. You’d hope referees are professional enough to not let it influence them in the next game , but they’re probably not.

PH could probably do with learning how to stay just on the right side of a ban.

So the refs have to be professional, but not our manager.

Look, I understand how he feels about that particular ref given that he believes that he lied in his evidence as 4th official at last season's Watford game, but gobbing off at him before a game? That's just just stupid and unprofessional from PH.

I agree, however it’s probably in his nature to be like that and part of what makes him a good manager - he doesn’t take any shit or tolerate people not doing their job properly, whether that’s his players or the match officials,

He should try and avoid the getting sanctioned but I’d rather put up with the touchline bans if the alternative is a benign, passionless manager who doesn’t want to upset the apple cart.

I take that, up to a point, and I certainly don't want a "benign, passionless manager", but unless he can channel this more appropriately it's only going to hurt the club. What's he going to do next time this guy officiates one of our games?
