Heckingbottom

Someone I know Hecky really pushed for was Lang.
If we're assuming this is true, he wants sacking purely for this.

Utterly fucking ridiculous signing, and I'm not even speaking with the benefit of hindsight - every man and his dog knew it.

He's one of the worst managers we've ever had, and if he's making demands, hopefully it hastens his departure.

Small I believe was someone the back room staff and PR really wanted, PR to his credit, made it aware very early on to Smalls camp they wanted him and kept it constant contact about him, watched him many times

If I remember rightly ( so a Lasher once told me, not fact checked it) it was under Bowlers first time at the lashers where he played his best football and that was partly down to McCall apparently, giving him that belief, which he thought he could try and work with here to recreate, at the time the budget was more or less gone for some reason 🙄. There was other hidden reasons that Bowler didn’t succeed anywhere following his move to Forest. That I won’t share. He also regretted signing for us quite quickly.
Iversen was clearly a club signing as a known quantity.

Offiah, I'm guessing, but considering Storey & Valentin regularly got the nod ahead of him, I'm going to presume he wasn't the managers pick.

Heckingbottom just strikes me as a guy who only wants 'safe' bets and Championship experience. Similar to Alan Irvine.

*shudder*

Alan Irvine - the most boring man ever to walk God's green earth

I'd say the better, long-term signings of last summer (Iversen, Offiah, and Small) were unlikely to be his recommendations. Whereas the likes of Walton, Thompson, and Valentin most probably were.

A sporting director is exactly what we need, not a pair of dinosaurs bringing in their ex-players, Championship 'experience', and no-fuss guys with Sheffield connections.

Their first signing being Josh Bowler sums it up. I guess McCall knew him from his spell with the lashers.
Lang 100% was his signing.

Has anyone seen or heard anything of him recently? Didn't see any pics of him or McCall at training today.
